Whats the difference between these Dragonfly strongs?
There seem to be 2 versions of the pure glider (no motor) Dragonfly Strong from SUSA:
1 - As pictured on the current product page at SUSA, which has a white tailplane, white fuse and opaque white wings with some red color near the wing tips. Heres the link to this one: http://www.soaringusa.com/Dragonfly-Strong.html or here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...&postcount=193 2 - Another version which has a red tailplane, white fuse and wings with transparent red covering/ultracote in the half near the fuselage and white for the other half near the wingtips. Heres a pic of this one: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...0&postcount=96 In fact if you click on the 'view detailed images' at the SUSA web page linked above, it shows you pics of this one. Does anybody know the differences between the 2 versions? How do the 2 versions compare in flight? And any idea how much the one with transparent wings and red tailplane used to cost new? |

I'm pretty sure that there's no difference between them other than the covering design. Many of the manufacturers of these ARFs offer them in several different covering patterns.

It is my standard scheme. Not only that but use Monokote which doesn't warp as easy because it's higher heat. I thought it would be heavier but it turned out lighter than the original covering by about an ounce a wing panel. All told it was a plus, plus, plus...

Maybe I ought to recover mine with Monokote. I have a warp in a wing and I have tried to twist and heat but it comes back. Alan |

hi, i wanna know if the slope version can be convert to electric and what else i have to do when i cut the nose and modifide to put the brushless motor?

Pretty sure the thermal version (not slope) has a totally different fuse mould... Does that mean you can't cut the nose off and make it electric, you probably can and use some heat to get a more rounded nose...
