Suggestions on a telescopic pole

I had my plane stuck in a tree. Luckily I could remove it using a extendable broom stick. abt 7 feet. I am thinking it might be handy to have a telescopic hook of some sort. I am not sure where to buy and what to buy..

Suggestions?

A lot of the kite guys use telescoping poles to fly line laundry, not sure how large they make them, try searching on kites.

Here's one example, looks like they have 22 ft poles.

A fishing landing net handle, you could easily make a hook to screw in the end...

or just buy a cheap pole fishing rod and loose the last couple of sections (would probably be too flimsy...)

These go up to 10m or longer !

I used to have a war surplus radio antenna that extended at least 20 feet. A regular pole saw/pruner with telescoping pole might work for some snags. Best to fly valued models away from any trees or buildings, etc even if you have to join a club.

Our club has a Painters pole, which is a telescoping pole with a roller adapter on the end bent into a hook. They have them at all the big box home improvement stores. Kind of expensive, but we use ours to get planes out of the rafters in our indoor flying venue. Roy

I once saw this handyman screw together several rods one after the other till he was able to reach the top of a 3 story building (so must have been 30 feet +). I think he was knocking off a bee hive. But that pole was sturdy. I doubt if flexible rods do the trick.

Yes it is best to keep away from trees.

I was struggling yesterday with a smaller broom stick hence the question..

Just remember, if you buy a 10 foot pole, you will stick it 12 feet up in the tree. Buy a 15 foot pole, you'll stick it 18 feet up. Get a 20 footer, it will be 22 feet up, etc, etc.

Swimming pool brush/skimmer net. 20 + feet easy. Or you could use a few sections of bamboo, just epoxy tubing so you can get it to extend as far as you like.

I have made a 12m, (42 ft.) Pole of 2m light bamboo sticks. It has a hook on the end, and i tape it together with duct tape. It have become useful many times. Bamboo is light, but stiff enough to tape together to long poles.

A weight on a length of twine or fishline can be useful if you can throw accurately.
