I like the idea of a FPV RTF Quad, but the fun is in making it yourself I think.

In the image I also noticed the little "feet" at the bottom of the motors, that would be useful for the current model, lets hope for spares

Regarding DS4U I have never dealt with them so unable to comment, but going by troubles others have had with them and general reviews, I personally would not purchase from them.
That model of the x 4 with the cam on front of it just looks soooo dam kinky, I wonder if they will be sold by others... I'm sure direct source won't be the only ones selling it, hopefully!

Hi R,
No. It would not even get off the ground Figure around 10g if you want any reserve performance.
Cheers,
Jim

The weight of the X4 is about 36g, maybe 40g after mods. I haven't tried it of course but I think asking it to lift something 4 times it's own weight might be a bit much. Even if it could you wouldn't like the flight times, flight characteristics, or the brushed motor life.

Thanks

Hmm thanks mates for the quick reply!!!!

As a question.. do you guys now any "out of the box" quad-copter that would lift 170g with no problem?

I've tried to assemble a Bumblebee imported from HK from scratch, but got no spare time to assemble and calibrate it. I'm now selling it....

Ideas?

Put some extra pitch on your rotors and then up your rates in beginner mode... you'll toast them!
