still waiting for my fan unit.

Still working on the rudder mod and hoping to finish by weekend (I have to admit that progress is a bit slow, not easy to find time to build a composite model in a condo with a almost 2year old running around + I still need to finish my YA F16 which I think now will have to wait till the Rafale is finished, hope to finish the Rafale by the start of 2013).

Anyways, elevon horns are glued to the wings.

Looks like Its back to work on the fuse, we have to figure out the installation of the fan because the housing dia. is 2mm bigger then of the TF4000 unit.

There's lots of options in terms of planes for this fan, also love the low amp draw.

Besides the fan I got a nose trailing strut (Habu 32) and it works perfect for this jet (as if it was made for it).

I have a question in regards to ducting.

Once I trim the center pc on the right and left duct so that the fan fits inside the intake fuct (The Red), How far more do I trim the center for rotor spinner cone clearance? Do I just trim enough (Smaller blue arch)??? Do I open it up a bit (Bigger blue arch)??? Does it make a difference in terms of air flow???

Any help would be appreciated.

I'd say trim it as little as needed to get safe clearance for the fan and rotor. It probably isn't overly critical so long as the ducting won't come in contact with the spinning cone or blades and the ducting won't collapse at full throttle. I've seen people open up the ducting a little bit to help pull air over the ESC and batteries and it doesn't seem to have an adverse effect on performance unless of course you suck a loose wire into the fan through the opening.
