Rohacell structural foam! Wing skins, Tail cores
For sale are sheets of Rohacell IGF (small cell, better than older large cell Rohacell) 31 and 51 cut to useful sizes for DLG wings and tails as well as other high performance molded airplanes.
Rohacell is the strongest foam per pound commercially available. It is used in nearly every molded competition wing, and for good reason. Until now it has been very difficult to get (the only US source charges a 300% mark-up...). But enough pitch, we all know this stuff is frickin' sweet

The large sheets were sized such that the top and bottom skin for a 60" dlg could be nested into one sheet with little wasted material. So for a 60" dlg wing, two large sheets will be required.
The sheets are cut with a CNC bandsaw which holds impressive tolerances. Still, cutting 1mm thick sheets with a bandsaw is tricky. The 1mm Rohacell 31 sheets are all very close to 1mm (+/- roughly .1mm). The 1mm Rohacell 51 generally lies above 1mm, ranging from ~1mm to 1.27mm.
Two shipping options are available:
Shipping option A: Foam will be packed flat between sheets of Luan plywood or cardboard and 3/4" EPS foam. $19 flat for shipping option A
Shipping option B: Foam will be rolled into a 6" x 6" by 14" box. The foam will exhibit a slight curl when unpacked. $10 flat for shipping option B.

Never used this stuff...intrigued. For tails, do I sand it down then cover it with something? For wings, do I send it off to my core cutting service and have them replace the blue foam with this? (I realize the thickness offered here is not enough, just trying to learn how to use it in general).
Is it lighter than blue foam? sorry for the rookie questions

standart use is for skin and width=1mm is totally enaugh!
This material is very light and strong when you put it as sandwich between 2 laminates (fiberglass, aramid, carbon, etc..)
Typical core material for high performance models, I use it in my planes and it Rulez!!!

It can be used for core material in a bagged wing but most be cut on a CNC router (NOT SAFE WITH A HOT WIRE BOW!!!). It would be a very stiff and light wing-some DLG's are built this way. These sheets aren't thick enough for that application however.
