SONY Action Cam vs GOPRO2 [[[videos uploaded now]]]

Got mine in mail yesterday and am looking forward to doing some nice side-by-side tests this weekend.

***few videos below. did a 120fps test yesterday real quick and meant to do a better one today but my battery died on me and didn't make it to that part of the test. have 1080 30fps & 720 60fps for the sake of comparing apples to apples..

and if there are any specific tests anyone would like to see, just shoot me a msg and i'll se what i can do..

Well...that sample won't sell me on the Sony. Yuk...the Gopro wins in color.

Thanks,

100% screen grabs for the pixel peepers - note this is highly inconclusive though: my gopro has the plastic cover removed whereas the sony is shooting through the plastic housing. will get a real test later ...

Really ? I thought while the Sony colors were muted they seemed closer to realistic, the GoPro was way oversaturated especially in the red department, and it had a limited contrast range in low light. (Although this does help the GoPro display clouds much better)

The fact that the Sony has much much less of the 'lens distortion' would be enough to sell me on that vs the GoPro, although I am biased since that distortion kind of gets me motion sick.

Thank you very much Aerorynamic for taking the time to do this test.

To me the Sony almost seemed over exposed to a point...I agree on the distortion. Maybe it's just the lighting in general. I have seen other samples and the Sony does seem sharper than the Gopro.
