TRADE SECTION Sub-Forum within Free Items
Forum Name: Trade/Swap Section
Category: FS/W -- sub-forum within Free Items. Change free items forum title to "Free Items / Trade Items" in forum listing.
Description: A place for traders to offer items for swap with little or no monetary compensation involved.
Justification: Currently, I see a lot of people posting either wanted ads or trade ads in the free items section. Adding a specific section for people to offer things for trade would hopefully help this problem. Also, there has been some issue with people getting angry over not getting an item they wanted. Having to "bid" for an item by offering to trade something in return that the OP wants might help solve some of this.
Rather than ad another forum to the already lengthy forum listing, I suggest the following be done:
Title of FREE ITEMS forum be changed to FREE ITEMS / TRADE -- when you click this button, the page navigates to two closed sub-forum options: FREE/Giveaway Items OR Trade Items. This way, users must select one or the other depending on what they wish to do. I believe people would be less likely to post wanted ads in the free items section as it gives these people a place to ask for something they need and offer what they have in return. For instance, let's say I am searching for a small portion of covering. I could post an ad in the trade forum asking for that specific color of covering. I could either say what I had to trade, or leave it open and let people post back with what they are looking for in return. I might just have what they need in my parts box not being used!
