Did anybody try convert a F3J fuse into an electric one?

Hi there,

I am just wondering. Did anyone ever tried to convert a f3j fuse (longer ad with the nose intact) into an electric fuse? I think that with current light and powerful power set up it would be possible to take advantage of the longer nose and still keep the servo in front of CG.
What do you think?

Cheers
Marco

As long as the fuse is as big in diameter as the motor one would need? Converting to electric is fairly simple. The hardest part is getting a good, straight, cut when you saw off the nose.

Here's a build log of such a conversion:

And the Radio Carbon Art Electric Sailplane Clinic 2 dvd shows the conversion of an Onyx in some detail.
