Greetings Racers!

Next year, about this time, a cool event is being organized for Hawaii; think vacation and family fun, plus F5B (and hopefully some slope-ing!).

Things are shaping up nicely on the organizational side of things and I need to know how many days, and how many rounds you guys want to fly.
-3 rounds / one to two days
-5 rounds / two to three days
-8 rounds / three to four days

So, please participate in the poll if you are likely to join us.

It's north east of Oahu, and it's also near some really good body surf beaches.

For those interested in hangliding, this is also the side for that.

Also, we are thinking about flying in the AM, then leaving the afternoon open for other fun.

It's really up to us to make it as we want it, so mention your ideas here.

I'll start...

I'll probably go for 9 days, with family, and want to spend half that time playing with planes.

My choice would be 4 days of flying, two rounds per day if possible, finish by 2 pm each day. Then Mai Tai's and foamies til sunset.

It is not the votes that count--but who counts the votes After talking to the likely CD It is heading toward a 2 day contest with 3 rounds--two on Saturday and one Sunday followed by a nice Hawaiian party. Keep in mind the "fun" aspect and that we don't want to wear out our welcome with the locals by hogging their slice of paradise for too many days.

Which month are we talking? Body surfing sounds good, early morning and late afternoon with flying in the middle of the day, blues music in the evening. That's the Byron Bay style which i am happy to reacquaint myself with.

5 rounds in 3 days. Prisegiving ceremony included. For locals will be great to spend for fri-sat-sun. For guests- from monday arrival, relax-escape from jetlag and race at weekend.

This is the first contest ever that my wife has actually sounded enthusiastic about.

Please have this event! I spend every other month on Oahu, and would love to see you guys fly, and even maybe participate. I stopped by this field last Sunday to see what was going on....always someone there flying. Be ready for a pretty constant 10 mph wind towards the road. Beautiful Island! Come on out!!! And the weather can't be beat.
