I believe the HCW553 is also 9X compatible. I just completed my mini review of the quad.

The serial nr look the same... so does all the markings... i believe that is the same components with a different tx (better in my mind)

I just received mine from HK and made some flights in the living room. Good value for the little money I paid.

But .... on the Tx there is a knob/switch called "AUTO". I have no idea for what it is.
How is it activated and which function will be the result?

I must say... this thing is awesome outside...
Gave it some altitude and did 4 consecutive flips easy :0)

Using the 9x, expo and DR... this thing can be very docile or a beast.
The sound of this is very addictive.. and can be flown at nights when the family sleeps :0)

mine just arrived from banggood.
just so different from hubsan x4. just love X4, but this H36 is quieter.

NO, only to a Flysky compatible one like the Turnigy 9x etc.

when the quad shuts down does it shut down when the battery dies all the way or at a certain voltage? is it ok to just fly it till it falls from the sky?

It shuts down automatically to avoid battery damage just like all the other RTF micro quads

Found it!!

This thing is blazing fast. I would venture to say it would give the Hubsan X4 a run for its money in the speed department. It does nice banked turns outside as well, something I can't do with my Hubsan, but then again, I haven't messed with the stock settings. I also tried it with the MP props and it has alot more throttle authority with them. Wind is light this week so no wind tests until the next cold front.

lately i play H36 frequently rather than X4 since my X4 is having problem with the cracked motors housing (all of them). But X4 has better tx response imo.

I feel that H36 is quieter than X4. It's smooth move but can do fast forward quite easily.
I still can't do banked turns.... still don't know how to do it

I find the controller/multicopter stick response a bit slow and lagging, but similar to the WLToys V939 in overall performance. It is Turnigy 9x/FlySky protocol and therefore will work with the WLToys Tx's too. The instructions for the H36 Tx are incorrect for the modes. You have to set Mode 1 and then power on the Tx to get it to be a Mode 2 Tx. The motors are the typical 7mm x 20mm with a 1mm shaft. The arms are 3mm x 3mm CF, so the same as the Walkera Ladybird V1 and V2 and the UDI U816. BTW they slipped and call it the QR Ladybird in the instructions too

Other than that it is as fun to fly as the rest of them

Good job Jim. One thing that may interest you all is that the MP has a new board that has the accelerometer chip removed, much like Walkera did with the V2. I and Stonecutter have flown with this new board and it seems to be a little more peppy without as much lag as the first chip. It's windy today, so I'll get a chance to test both the newer-chipped MP as well as the H36 in windy conditions.
