Scale tanker - USS Mispillion - Info wanted

I recently found a ship hull which I purchased several years ago with intentions of building a scale ship. The only info I have is the hull, which is a nice fiberglass, as well as an accompanying plan which shows it was done y David C. Marlowe of Largo Florida.
I am not sure of the scale, but would guess it to be in the neighborhood of 1/96 or 1/144, will have to measure and do the calculations. Does anyone know of this guy and whether he is still around? A place to get some general fitting for the model? Was thinking of using two Speed 400 motors with some 25mm three or four bladed props. I have been doing RC planes for many mnay years and only dabbled in RC ships a little, but love the scale ships and would like to build a tanker to take down to the river on a quiet day.

If you can show us a photo of the hull, we can better diagnose some of the information for you on scale and possible manufacturer.

I will get a pic for you. I know the maker, at least from the plans, it appears to be Mr. Marlowe. The ship ia about 40 inches long and about 6.5 inches wide. The plans show two props, one rudder (center), with scale prop size at about 1 inch.

AO-105 at 553ft your hull scales out to 1/165.. fittings might be hard not a common scale.. or she might be 1/194 as she was extended by 100ft during her service.. the beam looks like 165 is closer.

That probably seems about right. I want to scratch build a gas hauler out of the hull, so alot of the deck might not require much in the way of fittings. Is there a good place to look for general fittings in that scale? Could I get by using some 1/144 size stuff such as doors and winches? This is gonna be a "sport scale" ship. I have some other smore scale like goodies in the closet, but thought this one might be a good one to get back in the scale building mode.

OK, got home and measured the hull, it is about 40 inches long, but only 4 inches wide at the widest junction. It is supposed to be the AO hull at 646 feet long. with a beam of 75 feet. This would be the jumboized version of the hull.
