New JR XP6102 Radio (still waiting for 9X)

Take a look:

http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/articles/1280.asp

At at a very nice price to boot! (same MAP price as the 662). Looks to run circles around RD6000 and 6XAS.

Too bad HZ/JR didn't decide to offer a lite version (ie, with sub-micro or micro servos, no RX battery, etc). (flexequipt is too $$$ with the extra charges imo)

Needed more model memories than the 4 of my 642; got a great deal on an 8103 with 4 digital servos and an R700 (etc.) -- $370 @ LHS!

The DS811s & R700 will go nicely in my next ARF conversion; a .60 on 20cells. Iíll either use the RX pack or go with a UBEC.

The 8103 has some really nice functions and programming potential; not likely to out grow it any time soon.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm in the market for a new radio, and this looks perfect for me, but I would rather have the 610 micro rx and 241 servos. Or TX only and I'll get a flight pack elsewhere.

Not sure about the price though.

from the webpage:
JR XP6102 FM Air (JRP6644)
MAP: $249.99 Retail: $349.99

What is MAP, and Retail? If it is $350, phooey. I'll get a Futaba 9C like everybody else, even if it's ultra overkill. If it is $250, I'm ordering.......

Min Advertised Price - that's what resellers (lhs, mail/weborder) are suppose to advertised at the very least (hence those "call for prices too low to print!), so you might even find it a couple of bucks less than $250 (in the order or $240 or so I presume, my lhs had 662's for $220 for a long while - $30 off MAP).

Ahhh, minimum advertised price. That explains that. Thanks. $250 for that rig is a pretty decent price.

I believe the 6102 will be my next radio. We'll see how long it takes to get here. Called Horizon today. Supposedly they will be shipping the first batch of 6102's in two weeks.

I have a 652 and I was wondering if the new radio has a feature that I would like to have...

I just bought a new Omega sailplane and it has a 2 servo wing and a V tail.. My 652 will allo wme to choose EITHER a v tail or a flaperon wing, but not both... Can the new radio handle both at once?

Also, the price listed on the horizon website does not say if it comes with receiver and servos... Does anyone know if it does or if the transmitter is available by itself?

6102 manual link here:

http://horizon.hobbyshopnow.com/shar...645-manual.pdf

Looks like on page 25, you can enable V-Tail and Flaperons. The $250 comes with R700 (very nice RX) and 4 std servos. Me thinks though for a glider (and if you're moving up to 4-servo wings later one), a radio with glider capability might be a bettery choice (378, 8103).

Thanks for the link to the manual!!! Been wanting to see that.

But, how did you find it? I have done searches several times on the Horizon site, and have not found it.

I suppose you could tell me, but then you would have to kill me, right?

LHS is attempting to get me a 6103 with micro rx and servos.....We'll see..
