15T pinion it is then...

Motor spec is up to 6S maximum.
And I also have some 6S packs, replacing these are expensive.
Maybe in the future... when I master my current setup

My ESC is 85A (burst 100A) and 6S maximum.
Turnigy ESC 85A

Today I only fly the 600 very easy.
I fly some 3D with quads and smaller helis, so I guess I will do some acro in the close future... but still not "hard 3D".

Thanks for the tip!
Read the reviews and am now even more confident that 15T is the right choice.

85 is a bit on the small side for a 600 most 6S 600s are running 100amps or bigger
so make sure you check what your current draw is
id HIGHLY advise to get a HV esc and go at lest 8S if not 10S at some point soon

Must learn to master my current setup first
But what you are saying makes sense.

And what's the fun if you buy the best stuff from the beginning.
Upgrading is a fun journey... and also gives you a better perspective on different setups making you appreciate a better setup in the end.

ill let other people beta test for me
and 6S 600s are pretty much dead at this point
its not a mater of upgrading its a mater of not killing packs and escs
HV is just easier on the electronics and lipos
high voltage lower arm draw from the packs
packs and the esc last longer and the whole system is more efficient since you have less waste heat and you can run the same head speeds

which is another thing just run a high head speed it may seem the wrong way but itll make the heli more stable just run a bit more expo and turn down your throws a bit and youll get best of both
more stability and sharper response with out over controlling

When I see questions like this

Well, they are both in the "right" direction. But your comment gave me an idea.
Maybe I have twisted the tail belt 180 degrees wrong. That would make the tail rotor to spin the wrong direction. And maybe the tail rotor mechanism is made so that in hover, the tail rotor thingy* is in the middle.. and that is why it is not in the middle now?

In what direction is the tail suppose to spin?

I stopped reading this post at this point.

I have to ask myself are you sure you want to be messing with a 600.
Maybe you should begin with a 450 and learn how to set your radio and helicopter up before you start messing with a helicopter that can kill you!

Think SAFETY! Don't try and fly this helicopter if you are just learning how to fly, or you will be tossing all your time money and your helicopter in the garbage can in short order.

Watch and read everything at the link bellow!

What made you change your mind?
Cause you obvius did not stop reading after all *just teasing*

And relax...
This was my first scratch build heli. Not my first heli ever!
I have 3 collective pitch helis, 1 tricopter and 3 quads.
I'm far from an expert, but I do master "normal flying", including loops and rolls.

When I above say "master my 600", I mean that I need to learn how it behaves.
Each aircraft needs a little time geting used to before pushing it imo...

Regarding the 6S dead end...
I have no magic wand, so I cant turn my 6S setup to a 8S or 10S
6S will do for now, when I feel the need for it, I will upgrade all at once.

Now I will just wait for the new 15T pinion to arrive.
I also ordered 105mm tail blades just in case.

Thank you all VERY MUCH for all help in this thread!
If you guys want I can post a video clip "in action" with the new setup when parts have arrived?

Setup - moderate HS

Don't worry about the 6s thing! A 600 can fly perfectly well on 6s. Hard 3D is obviously tougher on packs, especially if you want to use a high HS.

Your motor and ESC combination should be fine, so long as you don't get the setup way out. I still have a 600N, which has a 50 size nitro engine which puts out about 1.8HP. That heli can do 3D just fine (though not with me flying it!) using HS1750/1850/1950 in normal, stunt1 and stunt2. The Typhoon 600H is rated at up to 60A, which equates to about 1.7HP, allowing some reduction for motor efficiency.

From my own tests, I reckon power needed is proportional to HS to the power 2.7 or so. So going from say HS1850, which is a moderately high HS, to HS2200, which is probably towards the extreme end, will result in an increase in power required of approx 60%. So it's easy to see how you could overload a 6S power system by trying to have too high HS.

Good luck!
