Received this as a G10 parts kit only from Eric, first off I have to say WOW. He does some beautiful work, even down to the packaging. It was nice to see everything sealed individually and protected.
Ok, on to the build...
1st run Dialfonzo SpyderQuad
DJI Naza/GPS FC
DJI 30A OPTO ESCs
T-Motor 2216-11 900kv
Tubes cut to 225mm
5.8g FPV gear to follow (after flight test and tuning)
A nice shot of the kit parts ready to assemble:
Seeing that the Naza would just barely fit into the frame running the .75" boom blocks from the original design I opted to buy some 1" tall boom blocks but didn't want to run through bolts and nuts. I decided to build off Eric's boom block design using my 1" blocks. I reamed the lower block holes to .1875" and pressed the .75" hex spacers in the blocks, then reamed the upper block to .201" to allow it to hand fit over the hex spacers, this holds the booms in place without screws in the top plate so you can work on the interior.
On the motor side I ordered Eric's .75" tall blocks so the landing legs would still lock in as designed. Hopefully my .75" spacers will be here tomorrow so I can finish the motor mounts up.
I'm not sure why the change to the single leg, Eric?? If was was due to flex then pinching them in and bolting them together made them very solid and a different look.
Now I'm the type of person that can't have white ESCs in a totally wicked looking black frame sooooooooo.. Off came the wrapping and re-wrapped in black. Now the next two steps take at your own risk The 30A ESC's are about .060" to tall to fit inside the 1" frame, if you dare a dremel will take care of that once you have them unwrapped. There is excess board to trim off to get them under the 1" height. After that it's a debate between flowing electrons and ESC cooling, which is worse, I choose flowing electrons and put the ESCs inside the frame and will monitor the ESC temps.
At my request Eric also made me a second lower plate to hold a distro board, worked out rather nice and fit like a dream!
All wired up.
Nice and clean.
Unfortunately the Telemetry receiver I ordered is twice the since of the Naza and room is getting thin. I'll save that receiver for another craft and ordered up a smaller Rx to fit just forward of the Naza. Hopefully it will be here this week. Still need to come up with the GoPro mount too, at least the isolators.
Some overall shots..
Yes, the whole thing is assembled with red anodized aluminum screws
That's it for now..

What a nice set of pictures and explanations.
Thanks a lot..
For the damper i have cut some foam on the cnc once but didn't test in flight.
It was the kind with one sticker side.
I like the RED anodizing hardware..
I would like to find cuntersunk + cuntersunk washer all anodized.. would make a nice touch.

Ok, received my standoffs for the motor pods.
I like to order the SAE unthreaded standoffs for a #2 screws from mcmastercarr, the are quite a bit cheaper then the 3mm threaded ones which you can't even get in round stock. All you need is a vise, 3mm tap and some lube, presto threaded standoffs. Heck I even use a Dewalt and power tap them.
Received my new receiver too but still waiting on the 6" leads since the receiver will be in the front of the Naza, hopefully tomorrow.
Another pic just for the heck of it..
