Flight design

I just built this beauty last night. I must say that it's fit and finish are great for a plane in this price range. I can't believe that the horizontal stab just snaps into place and is in perfect allignment. I'll use some glue just to be sure. Only problem i found was a jittery steering servo in front wheel assembly. Oh and the instructions were in Chinglish! Needed 2 plus onz.in the nose to get the right c.g.. Will maiden her tommorow if weather holds.

Some short reviews on their site too
I'm excited about it - looked at a construction video on it, very impressive - screws and plugs together - wooden servo tray.

Wow! Ordered plane on Sunday evening, shipped on Monday, and arrived today! (UPS gropund!) Totally impressed with MotionRC response and handling!

All in great shape! I'll post more of my experience as I unpack and put it together.

First impressions: the plane is a class act - even comes with a velcro strap installed for the battery, wooden mounts for the servos (all installed), probably can screw together (literally) in 15 minutes - no glue required, has three hinges on ailerons and elevator, two on rudder - the foam is still connected so a little stiff.

More later - enjoying just looking at it!

There is two threads for this plane so will post on this one as well. I will be getting this plane as it looks to fly just great. I am flying from a grass strip so want to get bigger wheels. Can someone tell me the current wheel sizes in particular the wheel (axle) width and axle diameter. I take it the wheel covers come off OK. Thanks

There is a big wheel set coming out from Freewing - I saw a photo of it, no wheel pants - I think the big wheels will be 2" but can't remember where I read it.
I don't have the plane here so I'll measure the wheels and post.

Further to my enquiry above I am also trying to find out if the BH model has the flaps and servo holes cut out ready to be fitted. It does not specify on their description. I have purchased the Star Trainer (great plane) which has the flaps and servo holes cut ready to fit. I have enquired with BH but they don't get what I mean and just refer me to the description. Hobbyparadise.com have this model which specifys this but I have not dealt with them and don't know if they are any good. Check out their site. Thanks.

FYI:

To avoid double posting I have been putting my comments on my experience with the new FreeWing Flight Design in another thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1825352

Because it is in a beginner thread I thought some might not be looking there. There are (so far) two others posting on their experience too.
