Figured I would get in on this. I finished my Gentle Lady on Monday the 1st and got to fly it on Sunday the 7th. The first flight was for dive tests and trim. The second flight was 45 minutes which is my best so far.

It is cub yellow with a black fuse.

I only have the two, but I still love to show them off.

We went to an RC air show last year, and were so impressed with the gliders that we stopped at a hobby shop on the way home from the show and bought a Gentle Lady kit. I was later given a nearly finished Spirit Elite that I decided to experiment with. The experiment was a success, and I have a really floaty doped silk Spirit E. Both planes have been specked, and fly really nicely. The GL has been up for 36 minutes in one, and the SE a bit shorter at ten, but that was at a contest. My thumbs still aren't used to ailerons.

This ship was built by a member of the Southern California club SWSA, John King. Alas John is not with us anymore. John gave me this ship gratis. I believe the wing is a one piece rendition of a Grand Esprit or something like that. It is ridiculously large. A single... IIRC, 144 inch wing.

But John also felt, as one piece, it was strong. And that's what he cared about. Well, I'll give him that! It's strong. Fly high John!

It flies great! It is just really hard to transport!

Not a wing that I can fit in the FIAT. I can barely fit the single piece GL wing in there, sans passengers.

I would have to let some of the wing peak out of the trunk of my Honda. That would still be easier than engineering a wing rod connecter, and lighter too.

Hi Stinkpot,
If you have one of the new super tiny Fiat's, maybe a roof top box would work for you.

My best floater to date is my Goldberg Electra.Built 1986-88.Modified and tweaked over the years.I always find lift with this plane.I used it this year in my 1st ALES contest, second place.I have flown with the local turkey vultures ,and eagles. No mater what plane I'm currently on I will always have an Electra on handGreat Idea for a thread.

Looked like a Fiat 128. But could be wrong. The fact that it runs and in the Bay Area! Thats a feat! My Dad had X1-9s, 124 spyders, and a 128. They all hated wet weather (tho the X1-9 was the best).

Like I said, maybe I is miztaken.

One of the local FIAT club members won one in a radio station contest. She's super stoked.

Back on topic: I just started a Dynaflite kit Bird of Time. I have all the lamimated parts gluing under granite slabs. For some dumb reason the wingtips didn't smoosh properly under all that weight, but that's ok, I'll fix them later. I'll be doing the narrow fuse option.

I can't believe there are no Mistrals in this thread! Super flyers as far as gas bags go. Sold it and then bought it back again after loosing my modified Thermic. Another great flyer.
