Old Gem.

Hey guys,

I've just been given this wonderful old 2m glider of unknown origin. It is a rudder/elevator affair and is set up to be launched from a highstart.

It was quite a lot of work to get her cleaned up, but it looks like my effort has payed off! After digging through my shop I was able to find some servos and a spare receiver/LiPo/regulator to get her flight ready! She still has enough gloss to make her shine and I'm happy to report that she flies very nicely indeed!

I've gotten the ship trimmed out and CG'd to what I believe is correct, but I'd love to compare my results with what the manufactured specs call for.

Anybody have an idea what make/model I've gotten my hands on here?

Thanks,

Justin

I think you guys have the answer! Thanks for the quick recollections!

I was able to dig up the build manual on Top Flites website and it includes all of the tuning information!

Ok, as promised, here is the video of my first ever high start launch.

First Launch on the highstart (2 min 10 sec)

And here is one of the trim flights before sending her up on the bungee.

Top Flite Metrick (0 min 26 sec)

Go easy, I've never flown a model WITHOUT ailerons... lol, sure is going to take some getting used to.

Crank up the rudder throw a bit, and make SURE your have some washout in the wing tips. Make sure the washout is equal on both sides.
Then, after tuning, plan your turns 1/2 block ahead of time.
You will get used to it, trust me.

Happy New Year.

Your Metric flies very well! Liked the second video when that dog chasing after the glider was not able to fetch the Metric for himself when you caught it instead! Was about to look at the Metric's plans and instructions when I had more time, for the GC info.
