Power Surge

I am having an issue with power surging. Basically in hover the motors surge up and down. Seems like a power supply issue so I am considering rebuilding my wiring harness, but I thought I would see if anyone has some troubleshooting advice before I go through the hassle. It does not change much with different gain settings. I had this issue a long time ago on a Y6 and rebuild it and changed esc's to fix the issue. Any thoughts?

This is on my x8 with Turnigy Plush 40amp esc and Tiger motor 2826 550kv motors. 5s batteries.

I'm having the exact same thing. I've taken a little break but still read. I thought it was something I had done to the Y6. It does seem to get a little better after about 6 minutes into the flight but then I only have 3 minutes or so left. I too was going to rebuild the harness. Just waiting to see if someone else posted similar. You did.

Turnigy plush 40a... RCTimer 3536-11 750k 4s battery.

I know this sounds totally counter intuitive but I had a problem with my motors surging and really bizarre behavior and as it turns out it was vibrations getting to the FC. Fixed that and all was good.

Yeah.... That's what I really expect it is. Vibration. I'm using those cheap RCTimer motors and the variance in them motor to motor is enormous. Some are rock smooth on the laser balancer and some you can actually see the bell move. No amount of opposing weight (that I can safely secure) will help. I bought some longer shafts and I screwed up two and got one perfect attempting to replace them. I gave up. The wife-unit said to bite the bullet and get some Scorpion or AXi motors. I hope they're a lot better. That may have to be in next months budget. Such is life.

But at least I'm not blaming HF and demanding my money back!
