Speedo Pro vs. Speedo Pro Lite

Does anyone own, or has flown both?

Lots has been posted about the Speedo Pro, but very little on the Lite. Apart from the obvious differences (wingspan, 2 piece wing, rudder, price), what are the flying characteristics of the Lite?

If you are talking about the 1.43m planes, I had one of the built-up wing versions. It flew OK & was very docile but lacked a good roll rate. Flew well inverted & was good for in-close flight as long as I allowed a wingspan or so of altitude for slow recovery from inverted. Actually it could be snapped back to upright from inverted much quicker than it could be snapped from upright to inverted. It did lazy spins +/- & slowed up nicely for landing. When hand catching make sure you grab the blasa covered portion of the wing leading edge!

Would categorize it as an an honest-flying advanced trainer.

C of G for Lite?

Hi all,

I've bought the Lite and it built up Ok with magnets to hold the wings on instead of that crazy spring system which I couldn't work out.

Unfortunately the kit came without a manual and I haven't been able to find one on line, so I have no idea of the correct C of G for this model. I notice the Speedo Pro Mark II specifies 65mm novice, 70mm intermediate and 75mm advanced.

In the absence of any advice to the contrary, I guess I'll go with 65mm to start with and hope for the best.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Geoff

65 is way too far forward. I fly mine at 80. You could start at 75 to be conservative.
