Well I hope that meter is correct, because it's showing 9.2 from the north at 3:40pm:

I've started graphing it here, let me know if I should use another meter:

A lot of those stations in the area are on the ground, and so aren't reliable. This is the best indicator, as it's on a hill about 1/2 mile east of Kanan...

http://cdec.water.ca.gov/cgi-progs/queryF?s=che

at 3PM its showing 14-19mph from 250, so probably pretty good up there at the moment.

Looks like we've got the weather covered. The site Brett posted has been showing good all week, and there's no reason it should change for the weekend. It should cool off a bit by Sunday too.

I'm at Temple flying right now, so I can tell you guys that Kanan and Temple are quite similar. Kanan is a slightly smaller hill, but more bowl shaped and the lift is really similar. Kanan is a narrower ridge too, and no rocks to land on!

The hike to Kanan is a bit shorter, but also a little bit more strenuous.

That's OK.. You said you would give us all piggy back rides up and down the hill. You are so generous!

Crap, it just dawned on me we are talking about this Sunday and not next! Lol not sure what I was thinking but glad I got the repairs started. Will remaiden the yellow mellow at Fermin tomorrow.

Woke up on the floor of my son's room at 4a.m., into the garage to cover the stab of my speedo.

My speedo wing has gotten a little, uh, sloppy - anyone object to adding a layer of 1.7NS? it'll only change the shape of the foil by a couple microns...

I doubt anyone will have any objections unless of course; A) you combat someone out of the sky and live to tell the tale, or B) you win the event

I'm in as well, have not had a chance to look at speedo wing yet so we'll see if it still has a jet motor "sound" LOL It did have a little warp when I took it out of the truck so if I bump you off the course you've been warned

Doh, multiple FAILs today and may end up pushing the remaiden back to race day... again if I can't manage to get to the slope tomorrow.

Almost left the house today without my battery charger (it wasn't charged yet). Charged the Speedo on the way to Fermin from work. Got to Fermin and noticed I'd forgotten the canopy cover! Argh! Figured I could get by without the canopy by using some paper and tape, went to assemble the wing and the friggin carbon joiner rod wouldn't fit down the right wing! Evidently one of the stir sticks I had used in the repair was blocking the joiner by about 0.5mm. No doubt I could have forced it in but something would have gone "pop" and I didn't feel like redoing any repairs when all it really needed was some love from a round jewelry file.

Drove back to San Pedro and had a Torpedo at my favorite Pizza place (Bonello's) and then sulked back to work.
