Jon, you can race mine.. Ortega is about as close as the races may ever get to your house, so you best come on up. Bring that hairy surfer guy you hang out with.

Trust me, we have a blast after the races too!!

Sounds like the 24th to me. Someone want to start a new thread and link this one to it? then we will get the new thread stickied.

I plan on being there. Unless it's flat.

Yes. Park on Kanan just east of Churchwood Dr. near the steps made of railroad ties. Then climb the steps and follow the trail to the left. Please don't park in the cul de sac on Burano Ct. The neighbors used to complain about cars taking up too much space on that little street. Didn't make it up today but the wind report showed that the lift was probably fantastic.

Thanks! Just wanted to verify. I was driving around figuring out where I could park. Wasn't sure it was legal to park on Kanan.

I usually park across Kanan by the school. Extra minute walk.

Public Parking Rights @ Kanan

Slopers have a perfect right to park on the cul-de-sac inside the housing tract & should not be intimidated by the residents who think that street is their private playground! I have been there when my truck would have been the only vehicle parked on Kanan Rd & an attractive target for smash & grabbers. Most local areas have a three day limit on continuous parking duration & anything less is perfectly legal unless posted otherwise.

Yes, you have that right, but at one point it resulted in some neighbors complaining about our "flying" to the ranger and nearly got us kicked off the hill. In reality it was all about parking. I'd rather not see that happen again.

So yes, you have the right to park wherever you want, but ask yourself what is worth more: your pride...or an awesome flying spot.

I've been flying at the spot for something like 20 years...been the lone guy parked down on Kanan more times then I can count, and never had any trouble. Not saying it can't happen, but there are police going up and down that road almost constantly.
