Stream DLG

Hello, everyone!
After millione evenings with a beer and discussions, on a great occasion with a suitable guys (professional miller and students of aviation engineering) was produced the first fully molded DLG in Lithuania. The very first fully completed model with a large hope was given to one of the best glider pilot of Lithuania - Donatas Pampikas and escorted to the European F3K Championship in France. Expectation proved to be correct, Lithuanian Stream in Donatas hands took 7th place ....
Donatas flew with model which weight was 268 grams .Wing 127g, tail-set 12,5g and fuselage 37g.

Hi,
First of all, I wanna say big thanks to Oleg Golovidov who designed the wing and shared it with us. And second, thanks to the guys who helped me to assemble the glider a few last nights before the competition in France.
As it was mentioned, the plane was new for me, but I felt very comfortable flying with it. Of course we have a lot of space for improvement and we are working hard to make Stream better and better
I attach a few random photos from model making. Enjoy!

Very nice... now put some color on that thing!

It has some Oleg-like characteristics looking especially at the vertical and wing tip shapes.

I look forward to seeing one of these in person.

Only wing is designed by Oleg, tail features by Stream team. Stabilizator and fin has CNC milled Rohacell cores and spread tow spars. Fin area is 2,05dm^2, weight 6,2g. Stabilizator area is 2.32dm^2, foil HT23 weight usually 6,3g.
Couple of pics..

that looks fantastic! congrats to the Stream Team!

what is the wing area? can you share any info on the airfoil? at least the design criteria? optimized for speed, float, sink rate, launch, etc?? looks great!

The design criteria is a secret of Mr. O.Golovidov. Joking. I hope some time Oleg will disclose and explain all things about that wing . My knowledge is very poor, but I can say that it is a refinement of Taboo with allmost the same airfoils, wing planform to reduce tip stall and pilot workload with bit less max. L/D. If I remember well, the wing area is 21.75dm2. We just adopted another view of Validol fuselage and tail features. Removed pylon, optimised and made fuse cross-section as small as possible to reduce drag after launch when glider is sidesliping and got the results wich pleased our hearts.

Looks nice. Sort of next generation of Taboo? What are the prospects of near future production? Would Oleg be US distributor?
Some loaded questions...

I think it is necessary to mention that we have the same Validol wing. Because I have milled the moulds for Validol and made one set for personal use in a small aeromodelers club without any commercial thought. But now a great team of young students has been formed wich are eager to make DLG models.
