No load full throttle, 3.31A only, 53W
Firing up the Quadrotor v2 for the first time(1) (0 min 9 sec)

No load zero throttle, 0.13A 1W:
Firing up the Quadrotor v2 for the first time(2) (0 min 11 sec)

Motor and throttle sensitivity test.
All 3 motors spun but the last one seems less sensitive.. even at 1/2 stick, its still hesitating.. have to punch past 1/2 stick to get it going.

Also the direction seems wrong. I did follow the diagram starting with motor 1 at top left, then go clockwise 2, 3 then 4. The signal also, 1 goes to M1 and the rest followed all the way to 4 to M4.
Firing up the Quadrotor v2 for the first time(2) (0 min 11 sec)

Ha in the background is my 2nd princess..

So I guess I need to switch the signal cable to corresponding movement..

Last 2 days was just revising my understanding of the firmwares avails.

There are so many variants for reflash on the KK+.. finally ironed out the unworkable Controller v4.7X and changed to Copter v1.1.. and the 4 motors spin in unison!
Gonna charged up the batts tonight and test tomorrow! Props up now.. here's a teaser:

Hi,
I didn't read all the thread so maybe you answered that question before.
But did you ever look at MultiWii controller..?

That's my own...

Nope I have not. Worth to explore later. Can switch our the KK for learning new language. I will need a more advance FC for the next Octopus. Am considering Zero UAV.

What do you have in mind as "advance" featutre.
Multiwii does have many sensors and GPS now.

It's just not that easy to setup since you need to upload a arduino sketch in the controller.

As sirbow2 said, my worry would also be on the tube.
if they can move it will oscillate and that will cause you problem .

but hey... Put that frame in the air and you will see.

:-)

I just couldn't resist the urge to push the stick today.
Tried a few times to calibrate the throttle range but to no avail.
Turned the Yaw pot clockwise and also tried anti clockwise.. wait for it to beep twice and also three times before quickly pull down the throttle stick, but just didn't get any feedback beep in return.

Anyway, push up the stick gradually and I can see its trying to lift off with a slight left yaw and pitch back.

Bigger problem is the springy skis which was bouncing like crazy and I think that affected the gyros a lot.. I will show video later for a retake..

Few projects in mind.
For the bigger AP, I need full autonomous take off and landing. # of waypoints have not decided but most important is RTH under few scenarios. Autoheight as well.

For the smaller one, I need GPS with unlimited waypoints and indoor guidance system. Terrain following as a challenge maybe? It's long shot..

dont tease me like that!! haha.

put it up to 1/4 throttle (do esc range calib first) and then throw a little piece of paper over each blade. you can see which way the motor is pushing air (two could be up and two down = no lift).

the legs should be no issue when you have the full throttle range.

the top red boxes are mode 2. elevator (pitch) is on the right side on the up and down movement. you want to push the far right trim thing up, if you need forward trim. BUT what you have is too extreme, something else is wrong. (see above?)

at 7:26, i see it went up a bit. that is obviously oscillation; you need to turn down the P/Pgain

i tried but the beep didn't feedback at all. I followed the instruction from the manual.. Turn the Yaw pot anti clockwise, Turn on Tx, to full throttle, turn on FC, wait 2 beeps, some say 3 beeps, then down throttle to zero.. Then there will be confirmation beep..

Nope, the ESC turn on with 4 beeps to cfm there 4 lipo, then 2 tone to end the init process.. Whether i down the stick at any time during init, there is no effect on the throttle ranging.. How?

Ah ha.. I read again on http://rcexplorer.se/page14/kkguide/kkguide/quadx.html

I try this time with the pot turned to clockwise max..
Turn ON Tx, full throttle, Power up FC.. I notice the green LED flashing very fast for a short period as if signaling to me it has talked to the TX and agreed on the the low and high points! Lol..

Then there was silence.. No startup beep whatsoever.. I just pull the stick down and the usual init beeps followed.. I guess, its done? Turnigy Trust 55A ESC and KK.. Hmm.. I hope its done. Can't fly until the new ski comes in.. So break for the moment and work on Octo ver 1!
