That's correct, but even rev 01 of previous WL Toys products were good enough for money paid ...

I'm going full ahead as guinea pig this time as well

Any idea what kind of cost we're looking at? Surely it won't be in the area of their recent products, but no where near the cloned. Ballpark anyone?

If it's anywhere in that range I'm good with that and would feel quite comfortable crashing till my hearts content. Only CP I've ever owned was a Honey Bee King 2 Belt CP 450, far too much heli for this beginner and repair costs were killing me. Lol

I started around 7 years ago on a Walkera 36, I'll get one of these if its fly sky compatible if not I'll stick to 250 size.

Updates from China

Taken from: http://bbs.mx3g.com/thread-240322-1-1.html

Translated updates: The photo is the new 6-channel WLtoys helicopter. The cost is estimated to be below 500 RMB i.e. approx USD 80 (but not sure if this refers to RTF or BNF). More concrete details may be available next month.

The rotor head assembly look a little tall, like FBL100. I'm worried it might adversely affect the CG of the helicopter. The fat, double-chin canopy seems a little weird but I'd still want one!

Looks like I can see the word SPEED on the side of the canopy... I'm still interested. But for $80 I think we can still purchase the a Solo Pro 100D and know what we are getting.

$80 RTF isn't too bad. And price will come down like the v911. It's a good start and way to recoup their tooling cost.

This is a Blade mCPX design. Many people are flying it so many of it's faults are known.

My interest is in the replacement cost moreso than the initial cost of the heli itself. It will allow for easier learning when the cost to repair damage is cheaper than the Blade mCPX.

I was really interested in the Solo Pro 100D. And the price that they were able to hit is nice versus the mCPX. However, the idea of adding another TX didn't appeal to me. And Nine Eagles didn't seem to support it. It was almost like an intermediate step until they got their Solo Pro 125 out. Which took so long, my interest waned a bit.

Erdnuckle2 has both the Solo Pro 100d and the mCPX on this blog. I think he gave his opinion of each from the perspective of a newbie CP pilot.

It's tempting to pick up a used mCPX I regularly see go for $100. But again, it comes down to the cost of parts. I hope WL Toys not only delivers a solid micro CP for less than $80, but also keep the parts reasonably priced close to it's v911 sibling. And FlySky protocol compatibility is a must in order to be on parity with Horizon Hobbies' Blade lineup.

Wow this photo looks legit and nice.

I think it will look better live than on photos.

Very V911'ish landing skids.

Maybe V911 battery will fit (dreaming) ???

BTW, you guys are all aware of the Hobby King Turnigy rebrand of the heli right?

Turnigy FBL100 3D Micro Helicopter:

RTF for $109.99. Much better price than the HiSky FBL100 which was approaching the cost of the mCPX.
