AeroSky H100

Anybody know anything about this Quad sold by X-Heli:

http://www.xheli.com/05h100-quadcopter-yellow-arf.html

Looks like a pretty decent price.

Crap injection moulded frame, Flamewheel clone. So many multicopter newcomers are buying these frames and coming to the conclusion that quads are really hard to set up, really sensitive to wind, and need ultra-fine balancing of motors and props.

This is because the frame is far too flexible. Injection-moulded plastic (glass-filled or not) is a very poor choice of material for multicopter frames.

Nice flying the quad handled really nice! Is the frame injection molded or glass fiber like the H 100?

This video makes it look easy to fly, contrary to TS00's comment.

AeroSky 4ch Quadcopter (8 min 51 sec)

I'd like to get one. $220 RTF is a great price considering it's setup out of the box, RTF with battery and TX/RX and LEDs. Nice!

I'm just not sure how easy it is to fly. The guy in the video makes it look VERY easy and smooth.

Well I ordered one so I guess we'll see how easy it is to fly. Been flying 3D and other assorted planes for a while now. Also a few Blade heli's and others. Just wanted to try a quad and some aerial video stuff.

Hey Tom,

I'm not too far away from you in York, SC. Let us know what you think about this quad. I never flew 3D. I flew mostly scale and I had both versions of the AR.Drone. That was SIMPLE to fly, so I'd like to know more about this one. My most complex heli would have been the Genius CP or the V120D02S.

I feel that if I can fly a CP heli I can fly a quad. I also have a couple of Esky Big Lama heli's and I have to admit that they are my favorites. They do have a serious blade strike problem but if you get the inner shaft extention and fly nice and easy like a helicopter is suppose to fly no problem. I love the Big Lamas. Enough about that stuff this is a quad thread. Sorry about that. My Aerosky quad copter should be here by Friday. I'll post any thing I can that might help us learn more about this heli.

Tom
I'm gonna try and build a quad from scratch.

Good luck. There are only 2 videos on all of YouTube with the H100. One is constant range loss with crashes and the other is Xheli's video I posted above.

A tad small but the right idea.

This is the one I would really like to own along with video goggles and FPV camera.

This one is about the right size. Right now, I'm thinking the AeroSky H100 might be a good, economical entry point into the world of multicopters. I'm not really into engineering a multicopter so one of these with all the electronics would be good. Since I own a DX6i, all I would need to add would be something like a AR6115.

Uhhhh...yeah. Those first two blow the budget by 400% or more. I just want to know how the H100 flies...I want to know what happens when you bail on the sticks. Does it drift? Does it crash? What happens?!
