Take a look at this for using two batteries.

It allows you to use the two batteries simultaneously or with one main battery and one as backup.

Tech-aero's stuff has been rock solid for us. Since his battery regs worked so well we started using his ignition battery eliminator. Now we have over 20 planes with no ignition battery. Tried the Wike Mike stuff first and had multiple failures (Tech-aero was not making them at that time).

The best way to power two receivers with two batteries.
Take two diodes with the sufficient capacity and tie their positive pins together. Run that connection to both receivers.( positive)
Then tie one of diodes negative pin to the positive of one battery and the other diode to the other battery. Connect the negative of both batteries together and to the negative of both receivers.
This way the battery with the most voltage will supply the load unless it gets overloaded and its voltage drops. Then the other battery will pitch in and help.
In the event one battery shorts out it will be isolated from the circuit.
This will cost you quite a bit less than $85
