So apparently the lesson here is nicks in the prop and or bent prop adapter can happen fairly easily with these little guys,, and in my case can apparently cause vibrations that can make the ASX go nuts

LOL
If you look at what I posted the gusts were 39MPH

I've flown my V1 in 10-15mph and had a blast, but 20-40mph winds I'de rather fly in calmer weather to really see and enjoy this one on its maiden flight
plus 40mph gust is about what this plane does for top speed I would think..
full throttle harriers
would be a hoot to catch that tail wind with my Bushnell!

Yup. Any plane that uses a gyro on the roll-axis will be sensitive to an out-of-balance prop. Just like heli flybarless controllers, which are sensitive to main & tail rotor vibration.

I know we suspect this 2500kv is different from past 2500kv. But if it's not that prop is going to really load it up.

Load it up amp draw wise? I forgot that I kept all of my stock props from other planes, so I have plenty of OEM props to switch back to.

Yes. And you don't get the rpm's either. The performance is pretty poor. The 2300kv motor is the only one the really shines using the 5043. But people have noticed the 2500 is this new Sbach seems to be stronger than the old ones.

Got two flights in tonight between the rain and flew in 10 mph winds with gusts over 15 at the time. It was fun and she just penetrated the wind like nothing. Much better flights as I was at ease just throwing her around. Trying to land was interesting even with power off the plane wanting to just hold about a foot off the ground. It takes a lot of down elevator to get her to the ground, may be my CG.

Well I would take a video of the flight but my keychain cams usb port is toast, tried to resolder it and it was no good. Ordered another and it will be here next week.

I meticulously cut foam out so my 450mAh GensAces would fit as I've been reading about people using 400 and wanting to try 500mAh batteries. I was able to get the CG good at 36mm but it's really too heavy for my taste. The plane is so much more nimble and versatile with a Hyperion 240mAh pack.

For those following my performance travails, I swapped another 2300kv motor into it. The old motor spun 9,000rpm on a fresh pack. Thisnew one spins 10,500! (both with the same 5043) I wonder what the heck happened to that 9,000 motor. It spins freely by hand, sounds normal. It just doesn't have to punch.

Now verticals are unlimited with both the 450's and the 240's.

Ah... All motors were 2300kv. All props were 5043. First motor was 1500 rpm down for some reason and it made the plane feel lethargic. I swapped the 2500 out after the first flight. I'm spoiled by the quiet of 2300 power.

I noticed that with mine. Nonetheless, the stock prop seems to outperform the 5030 on my S3D, while the 5030 was the clear winner on both of my V1s. Go figure...

The plane has plenty of performance for me as it is, but I will most likely install a 2300 & 5043 soon. In my crystal ball, I also see an Sbach 3S3D in my future... I don't recall ever complaining about having too much power in anything - full-scale, RC, lawnmowers, cars, whatever. In fact, there has been no such thing as too much power since the throttle was invented.
