BIM, is this your 22mm unit?
I found in bottom of a box of parts purchased.
I sanded the rotor down so it fit in the housing, mounted it on a Mustang 8.4mm and it seems like it makes an OK amount of thrust for being so tiny.
I'd like to get some more of these.
Do you sell the 6 blade rotors?
Also, is there is reverse rotation rotor since these spin the brushed motors backwards?

Yep, that was from the very first batch back in 2010! The 8.4mm housing too. I don't think I've seen anyone else actually use that combo though. If I recall correctly, they were too heavy compared to the amount of thrust they put out.
Is there any chance that you would be able to get some numbers for that unit right there?
If you are really interested, I can dig it back up and add a few updated features to it.
Those rotors are GWS rotors, but I do have my own rotors from my smaller units that I can work with. I'll have them ready by Wednesday. I can make them reverse rotation too. Do you think the motor needs to be loaded more?

7mm might be the best route to go. I made a test rig out of plastic cups and it makes about 10g of thrust with a 6.6g weight. If a 7mm makes the same 10g of thrust, it will save 2.5g per motor, @ 7mm motors are only $2 instead of of $8.
I think I will be ordering some 7mm housings from you. I'm thinking of a "throttled" 2S mini 747 or A380.

I tested the Albatros 7mm wih a GWS 6 blade fan in a 22mm housing.
AUW was 4.5g with plug... probably less because I used duct tape to make up the difference between 7mm and 8.5mm. Thrust was over 8g.
If you'll make them, I'll take 6 pcs of belled 22mm housing for a 7mm motor.

I got the 7mm shrouds finished and up to spec. They have a theoretical mass of 1.14g. They have the same specs as the DF22.
* I.D. = 22mm
* O.D. = 23.4mm
* O.D. with Lip = 28mm
* Motor Option(s) = 7mm, 10mm, 2g outrunner
* Stator Count = 3
* Optional Intake Lip = yes
* Weight of 7mm =
* Weight of 10mm =

* Specific Rotor = no
I also got the rotors completed, but I'm not sure which is the better option: 3 blade or 4 blade...

The cut down GWS Rotor seems to load the 7mm fine and it doesn't get too hot... I don't think it got hot at all...
What do you think the thrust difference would be going to the smaller diameter...say 20mm? If the thrust is about the same, I'd go with the smaller housing.
Or going with a 3 or 4 blade SLA rotor instead of the GWS unit in the 22mm housing?
I will order 2 22mm housings for 7mm motors, 4 20mm housings and rotors for these (maybe 3 Std and 3 reverse rotation)

I'm thinking of trying these on a DF A380 with a Mosquito brick to see if it will work, before building something full fuse.

We can compare it to Joe's test. That was with a much smaller motor and 2mm less toward the diameter. With the same rotor (of appropriate diameter), it won't make less. I'ld say that 8g sounds reasonable. Now the 7mm can obviously handle more than any 6mm, much less the Ares super short motor.
How does this sound? For every 3 blade rotor you get, I'll add in a 4 blade at my expense.
No matter what units you get, the cost for the std rotation is the same as the counter rotation.
