New bimRC Ducted Fan Line
Hey everyone,
Since I remade my entire line, I decided to start a new thread. My other thread didn't really go anywhere. It was also disorganized and was not updated like I hoped I would. This one will have all collected information on my units. Post 1: available units with dimensional specs Post 2: available performance specs Post 3: purchasing The New bimRC Ducted Fan Line Up: DF15* on request * I.D. = 15mm * O.D. = 16mm * O.D. with Lip = 19mm * Motor Option(s) = request * Stator Count = 4 * Optional Intake Lip = yes * Weight without Lip= * Weight with Lip= .35g * Specific Rotor = yes ** Counter Rotation is available DF18* * I.D. = 18mm * O.D. = 19mm * O.D. with Lip = 22mm * Motor Option(s) = 6mm * Stator Count = 4 * Optional Intake Lip = yes * Weight without Lip = .49g * Weight with Lip = .58g * Specific Rotor = yes ** Counter Rotation is available DF20* * I.D. = 20mm * O.D. = 21mm * O.D. with Lip = 24mm * Motor Option(s) = 6mm * Stator Count = 4 * Optional Intake Lip = yes * Weight without Lip = .52g * Weight with Lip = * Specific Rotor = yes ** Counter Rotation is available DF20* * I.D. = 20mm * O.D. = 22mm * O.D. with Lip = 24mm * Motor Option(s) = 7mm, 8.4mm, 10mm * Stator Count = 5 * Optional Intake Lip = yes * Weight of 7mm without Lip = * Weight of 7mm with Lip = .88g * Weight of 8.4mm without Lip = * Weight of 8.4mm with Lip = * Weight of 10mm without Lip = * Weight of 10mm with Lip = * Specific Rotor = yes ** Counter Rotation is available DF22 * I.D. = 22mm * O.D. = 23.4mm * O.D. with Lip = 28mm * Motor Option(s) = 7mm, 10mm, 2g outrunner * Stator Count = 3 * Optional Intake Lip = yes * Weight of 7mm without Lip = 1.33g * Weight of 7mm with Lip = 1.33g * Weight of 10mm without Lip = * Weight of 10mm with Lip = * Weight of 2g Outrunner without Lip = * Weight of 2g Outrunner with Lip = * Specific Rotor = yes and no ** Counter Rotation is available DF22-S* * I.D. = 22mm * O.D. = 24mm * O.D. with Lip = N/A * Motor Option(s) = 10mm * Stator Count = 5 * Optional Intake Lip = no * Weight = * Specific Rotor = no * Specific Rotor = yes and no ** Counter Rotation is available DF24* * I.D. = 24mm * O.D. = 25.6mm * O.D. with Lip = N/A * Motor Option(s) = 10mm * Stator Count = 4 * Optional Intake Lip = no * Weight = * Specific Rotor = yes * Specific Rotor = yes and no ** Counter Rotation is available DF25 * I.D. = 25mm * O.D. = 26.4mm * O.D. with Lip = N/A * Motor Option(s) = 10mm, 12mm, 2g outrunner, outrunner up to 14mm * Stator Count = 5 * Optional Intake Lip = no * Weight = * Specific Rotor = no DF30 * I.D. = 30mm * O.D. = 31.6mm * O.D. with Lip = mm * Motor Option(s) = mm * Stator Count = 5 * Optional Intake Lip = yes * Weight = 2.78g * Specific Rotor = no DF35 * I.D. = 35mm * O.D. = 36.6mm * O.D. with Lip = N/A * Motor Option(s) = 12mm * Stator Count = 5 * Optional Intake Lip = no * Weight = * Specific Rotor = no DF40 * I.D. = 40mm * O.D. = 42mm * O.D. with Lip = N/A * Motor Option(s) = 20mm, 21.4mm * Stator Count = 5 * Optional Intake Lip = no * Weight = * Specific Rotor = no DF44 * I.D. = 44mm * O.D. = 46mm * O.D. with Lip = 50.5mm * Motor Option(s) = 20mm * Stator Count = 3 or 5 * Optional Intake Lip = standard * Weight = * Specific Rotor = no Rotors 18mm* *Blade Count Options = *Pitch Options = *O.D. = *Bore Dia. = 0.8mm *Weight = 20mm* *Blade Count Options = *Pitch Options = *O.D. = *Bore Dia. = 0.8mm *Weight = 22mm* *Blade Count Options = *Pitch Options = *O.D. = *Bore Dia. = 0.8mm *Weight = |

- All units are made to order. I can not stock them since I am not a big time retailer. I wish I could, but I can't. Because of this, there is a lead time of 8 to 12 days.
- All units marked with an asterisk (*) are made of a different, higher precision material which has an initial handling charge of $5 (there is no way around this). What I can do is compile up to 20 units (or parts) of this material in one file so that the $5 handling charge is only applied once. - Every other unit is subjected to a $1.50 handling charge. The same applies as above. - Shipping is a flat $6.50. - Group Orders: If you would like, a group order can be placed. The group order will split the fees among the amount of individuals ordering. If no one else chooses to jump in, I will. During group orders, the order will come to me. I then clean, trim, throw in some mounting screws (if applicable), and reship at no additional cost. Prices: All 22mm and smaller rotors* are $1 each. Are there rotors available for the df 15 and 18? I could not find them in your awesome shapeways page.
Also do you have any stats for the df15? I'm planning on building a vampire or something else with good wing area as an indoor micro floater with undercamber. I've ordered a 3ch Dt rx52 and nanoact actuators and I'm looking for a micro fan. I need one that won't make it a rocket, I was planning on making a fan out of foam but i wanted something more sturdy and saw your beautiful fans. I want to try both the 15 and the 18mm fans if they are available. Thanks

There rotors are available for the 18 and 20, but it would cost a small fortune (due to the $5 handling fee) if you got them individually. If you let me know how much you want, then I can make it so that the fee would only need to be paid once...
I'll have to get back to you. trying to finish up some school work |

The DF15 is still untested. The original set was made for a particular motor which took a lot of work to makke, so that didn't happen. The 15 has no eligible motor options so far. The only motor I can think of is a 4x11 8.5ohm.
The DF18 is the next option. We are still working on ways to increase performance. After my 12" Isis, I want to either make a 737 or F22. Both have the wing area and would use dual fans. My single option would be an F35 since it has those massive control surfaces. I'ld use two microacts for the fighters. Two hinge acts for aileron and one microact for elevator on the 737. Of course they would all be 18mm models. Too bad no one found a money tree seed though. |

I've got another question and that is: will nanoacts be strong enough to use both in the elevator and ailerons on a vampire or an arado ar-234? I also thought of hingeacts but they are too big actually, I'm planning on squeezing the biggest fan possible into the Vamp without covering the whole wing with the intakes. Actually, I'm trying to make it as small as possible with the fans available right now lol
, I mostly like post WW2 warbirds and they all have very small jet engines and intakes compared to modern jets, the f14 tomcat has 150% FSA intakes
