Love the cockerel crow at the end

The rest of the chickens must have run down to the tail when they felt their hen house start moving.

CG placement is subjective. A more skilled pilot may or may not have been able to fly that plane. In sailplanes we are always looking for ways to shift the CG aft and find that as our skills improve we can safely fly at CG positions we thought were unflyable earlier.

You are always trading off maneuverability/stability. There's no free lunch and it's a zero sum game. To get one you lose the other.

To an extent.. there is a point where an aft CG will make the plane dangerously unstable, particularly when a stall means you're going to drop into a flat spin.

yup, that looked about right...with experience you'll be able to catch the stall BEFORE it happens.

Someone mentioned gliders and the effects of cg... I flew my MINIMOA at 50mm then 55mm and was thinking that while sit flew fine it wasn't very responsive. Seemed sluggish. Wouldn't fly inverted w/o losing altitude. Then I kept moving the cg rearward based on info from a thread... I'm now at 70mm. Inverted flight all day long, crisp aileron rolls, inside loops... I simply am amassed at the difference in response...

BUT, if I had stated at 70mm, I most likely would have ended as you did...

Yes, from the moment the wheels left the ground the pilot was seriously behind the plane. Poor guy never had a chance.
