Chris,
I'm hundred percent in agreement. More meant for the electric than nitro. I think you can make it work...but you need to shift things around a little.

Keep up the great builds guys!

Well it looks to me as if it is all finished ........and believe me when I say that I took my time.
I am sure that it can be built in a day.
So here are the final pics.The cowl was made in a "cartoon scale" principal to keep up wth theme of the model
.I am happy with the final appearance of the model and thank Joe for all the time it must have taken him to get this project up and running.

Chris you have done a GREAT JOB with you model and all the add on are a nice touch I especially like the fin braces. I am still laid up and now with hurricane Sandy on it's way I may barrow a few of your ideas and pimp out my Kellett.

Test Flight
This was one of those test flights that we hope for but rarly happen.
first flight was a hand launch ....blades spun up easy in a 6-7 kt wind...three quarters throttle..straight out of hand ..no drop, climb or roll......eased back to half throttle...that's it...a couple of trim click's.......but nothing major.....8 min very stable flight ...hover landing [.happy chappy}
Second flight ROG....spun up easy plenty of back stick.....had to give bit of throttle as the model was moving backwards on the grass.....released back stick .......and with about half throttle the model jumped into the air......
A couple of pic's at the field with my old C-30 profile that I have been flying for several years.
As you can see it was a very over cast day ,so I did not bother with a video cam.{ next time }
Here are my final specs for this model.
AUW is 1210 gms with 2250 ma lipo = 10 min flight.
head has + 8 deg with 4 deg left tilt
Hang 20 deg
Happy Landings

Chris nice job Bro!
Weather her has been crappy as you can expect from a hurricane aspect. We here inland north of the eye were very fortunate we didn't have a repeat of the last hurricane that hit us. Some high winds and a little rain. Of corse the eastern sea board got hammered BAD! I may try my maiden later in the week. Again I'm glade to here that the Kellett is an easy flyer !

Chris, Bill,

Nice work, looking foward to a BritzinOz video

I keep looking at mine and my mind wanders, it would be so easy to put formers up the side of the vertical fuz then just add stringers hmmmmmmmm
