Hi Banks,
I flew from Woodstock Tower (hang-paragliding site) couple weeks ago.
Wind was from WSW and I could get 12km across the valley,
but landing was really tricky, there is a too small place and almost crashed my SkyWalker, even used a bird net for catching.
My question is about your place - can we find and launch (AND LAND!!!) our birds from top of the high hill around Luray?
Why do we need high hill - because of saving power for getting higher and catching strong thermals.
I like this area, cause there aren't commercial airplanes and others.
Thanks.

Yeah I've been upto the tower and that would b a challenge to land there.There really are no high hills here just the mountains lol.But I've seen so really good places up on skyline drive.That will start u out at about 3000 feet or so.But my field is down in the valley.Lots of room just not up high.I take off and land my 80inch kadet from my place with no problem.

Thanks for the idea. I will check it by Google.
I'm practicing mostly over MD, between RD28 and River RD(190), 25 ml from Falls Church.
There is a BIG field and friendly farmer gave me permission to fly, just do not trash the place.
But it is good when wind from N or NE only, no airplanes and lot of thermals.
Other directions have lot of radio noise or comm airplanes.

It's just classic: video Tx - 1280 MHz (with different power - marked as 700 mW, 1000 - don't know how much in real)
video Rx - upgraded SAW filter;
antennas: cloverleaf on Tx , 9.5 helical on Rx - all from RMRC;
RC control - is DL (upgraded DragonLink);
batteries - two 4000 4S (total 8000 mah) ;
motor - from bevrc (for SkyWalker).
Flying time - depends of the weather and thermals - 1-1.5 hour.
P.S forgot - OSD - EasyOSD, and RTH - FY21AP basic config.

Hey guys,

Nick here, I live in Philly and usually make the drive out to the mountains to fly due to heavey air traffic around my area. I own two skywalkers,x8 and various other quads/helis/flying machines. I'm very interested in meeting folks in the fpv hobby anywhere between new york and DC.

Last time (last weekend) it was biggest problem to get down my SW from 1500m high
over Woodstock Tower for landing. It took about 30 min just to overcome thermals and land it.

That's great. What kind of range are you getting from that video RX/TX/antenna?

Have you ever flown with another guy on the DL v2? That's what I have, wondering if any cross/interference.

Hey, Nick. We won't hold being from Philly against you! Haha. (I'm a skins fan.)

Just finishing up an x8 build myself. What do you have in yours?
