The Cherry Festival has a week long, out door concert series, on Grand Traverse Bay. (early July) It's about the same time as my club's airshow.

I would LOVE to come out to play and fly!! I did get out as far as Springfield Ill.. The Mo gig was a typo, I put radio city music hall for a private party I did last year..And People believed it!!!

Found a few great DC3 sites...!

I wonder whether or not that first pic is from Oshkosh a couple years ago. They were supposed to have a DC-3 fly-in, but the fields flooded out before the show. They had to turn most of 'em away because the fields were too swampy. Pretty sure the third pic is from Oshkosh. The yellow DC-3 is famous there ("Duggy"). The skydivers jump from it. I think the owner of it passed away last fall.

I lived in New Zealand when I was a kid and sometimes flew on a DC3 from Alexandra to Invercargill with a stopover in Gore/Mataura on the way. From memory the Airline at the time was called SPANZ. South Pacific Airlines of New Zealand. Even had photos back then but heaven knows where they are now. I have enjoyed following your project. Thank You

Ohhh Look what I found. Some history. And yes, They were called Viewmasters due to the larger passenger cabin windows.

I found an email address for Southern and asked for a few more photos as I was thinking about painting my giant scale r/c aircraft in their colors. This has to be about three weeks ago. As of now I haven't received a reply....

The plans I bought arrived today...I have a better 'feel' for the size of your monster now..
I'm planning on doing one as a MATS transport..Polished metal with a little Military here and there.
I'm just lazy enough at the moment to buy a laser cut kit...

Second engine ordered today, Hatch cut for switches and air valve. I started laying out panel lines with my "laser"
