Kahlog , that is fantastic news on this plane being flown in epower !!.
I know your Dora flew great and its great to see the ability to go larger !!!
Its getting me interested in these larger kits , I like the epo formats but there is nothing like a good solid model !!

That TF fw-190 flown at the neat fair was using the same rimfire 65 ive got in the esm dora9. He's using a 23x10 prop while I test flew mine with a 21x14.
I'll be testing a 23x12 this weekend.

about time that TF starts looking at e-power folks. 2 years ago I asked them at Ihobby about e-power and they said they were not interested.

I still don't think they are looking at e-power. This plane is still designed for gas.

It's just a power source, it really does not make a difference.

I think the differance is that I am assuming Dan is part of team Futaba , I dont follow that stuff at all .
So by Dan taking part in Neat and showing the right mix of prop , battery ect that can be done with this plane it shows me an interest in capturing sales for eflight .
I am not a soap box guy , I could care less it flys gas , glow or epower , I just like the ease of eletric and to see this size format converted it really exciting !!
I have been working on a very light 79" EPO LX P40 and while I am really enjoying the model bash so far , this size 79" and larger is epo also has it down side .Yes its very light so flying should be and has been reported a joy but you cant move the thing without dinging it !!
It would be nice to get the strength and size of Giant scale in a good epower set up

Just for laughs, here's a scratchbuilt FW 190 D9 I'm working on. The 109 inch wing is hotwired foam covered with 1/32 balsa. Because I want to put it in my van with the landing gear on, I measured the width of the door on the back of the Lumina van, which was 4 ft., and cut the centre of the wing to that width. The outer panels plug in. Landing gear is homemade using electric screwdrivers with the planetary gearbox to drive a 10-24 threaded rod as a jackscrew drive. The wheels on the real FW 190 were very narrow because of the thin wing so I stole the front wheels off my next door neibours wheelchair. Hope he doesn't hit me with his cane. Had to take the bearings out and put better ones in it. Each landing gear runs on its own 2 cell LI-FE batt.

I'm with ya 100%. I really liked this because of the hatch. That's usually the hardest part in bashing warbirds.

Hey Guys,

I have not had a chance to test any other props on the FW yet as I have been traveling a lot and just got back to Champaign where its cold and very windy. If you want any pics please just let me know. I am going to take it out of the trailer and get some pics of how the batteries are mounted and that sort of stuff over the weekend.

Thanks,
Dan

Must be super tail heavy without all that extra dead weight, but then again the short nose doesn't help the situation (I guess the Dora 9 would solve all that)

Even with a D9, you still need nose weight. I know as I have one.
