hey guys..
got a friend that wants to fpv. he is looking at goggles, what should he get? I don't use them so I really don't have an opinion on them. he's looking at fatsharks, dominators or predators from HK.
HK has a deal on the preds setup with 5.8ghz. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for that Tim.

I have a new folding quad part built at the moment.

I may rebuild my old quad when the new one is finished. I will have to think about a Y6.... I would only need 2 more motors and ESC's.

I can't see a yaw servo on your Y6..... ?

No yaw servo needed. Give it a go, you'll love it. What are you running for a flight controller these days?

That's interesting, I had assumed they use a yaw servo like a normal tri.

Still using the multiwii controller with accel and mag. I have been thinking about trying a "Flip" controller.

One last question, I meant to ask before but the brain cell had nodded off, what's noise like ?

Is it much noisier with the Y6 setup. The propwash from the top set of props is feeding straight down into the bottom ones. Does that make much difference ?

I have seen many good reports on the Y6 so I might give it a go when I get the new quad finished. My other quad gave great service last year so I might re-build it as a Y6 .

It's got a different pitch sound to it. I wouldn't say it's any louder than a regular hex or quad. If anything I'm finding it's a little quieter in a descent or fast forward movement.

I fly with a 5" monitor in a box with a small magnifier at the front to correct my near sightedness. I have only tried goggles at the last meet. Andy let me pilot the gimbal on his copter with goggles. I think I have a bigger view with the 5" and magnifier than the goggles had..... but goggles are very portable...

Thank for the info Tim.

I will have to give this some serious thought.
