This is the best info I've seen on this subject, Thanks a lot guys.
Now all I need is some reasonable weather on my day off and I should be able to solve issues on all my planes.

I received my Edge today, was leaving work early because of the storm and luckily both the Edge and my replacement MXS arrived five minutes before I left. At least if I'm stuck at home tomorrow I'll have something to do. I am really impressed with the quality of this kit, very nice.

Take care man. Looks like a nasty storm

I have had an Edge on order for about 2 weeks now, which I shipped through China Shipping. The China shipping link for the tracking never works but I have been using Track17 which works fairly well.

Tracking shows its in Sydney so won't be long before She's in Melbourne! Can't wait!

Well, looks like I got lucky. Looking outside this morning it appears everything is in one piece after the storm. Last night was a heck of a blow, but at least we didn't lose power. I don't think I'll be able to work on the plane today since I should be able to make it to work, and I'm starting to get slammed on the time schedule on my current project so I better not skip. Too bad to, this plane looks like a pretty easy assembly so it shouldn't take long. I guess if the weather is too crappy for flying this weekend maybe I can get it done.

I'll try take pics with my IPad, but I can't download them to RCG and don't have a PC anymore so hopefully I can figure out how to post them.

My good wife has informed me my Edge has arrived at home and the carton is in very good condition!
The tracking info from China shipping is very inaccurate, its still showing its in Sydney from 5 days ago!
Anyway, Just glad to have received it without any damage

Stand by for some pics within the next 48 hrs!

I ordered mine a week ago. Not that I'm impatient, but how do you find your tracking info? Keen to know if it will be here soon or not...

{edit} found it, looks like it was only posted yesterday, so I'll have a bit to wait yet

Patience I had until this morning, when my old Skywing Yak 54 reached the end of it's life. The motor smoked, and the only spare motor I have is planned for this Edge 540.

Guess I'll have to keep myself entertained with my other projects till it shows up. When it gets gere it will be a record fast build (which is unlike me) because I'm really lost without a good 3D'er in my fleet.

Hi all, would a Turnigy 35-36C/1100 KV motor be too small for this plane? Or is that adequate for basic/non-aggressive 3D flying?

That's the motor I just burned up in my Skywing Yak 54 on 3S 2200 with a 14x4 APC prop. I felt it was a great combination on the yak. I think it would be fine on this plane, even though the Edge might build up slightly heavier. My Yak was about 1100g RTF.

The winding wire ended up burning after a long hover followed by a sustained full power pullout on a fresh pack. I've done it hundreds of times before that though, so I can't really explain why it failed when it did. I had 465 flights on that motor.

What's your opinion on the strength of the landing gear mounting area Nac?
