Hi.

Can you confirm visitors are allowed to fly at this as well? I fly an electric powered phoenix PC-21 for a friend of mine at the PARCS field and would be keen to come to this event.

Less than two weeks to go

The big clean up took place last weekend: runways are shmicko, toilets, showers, clubrooms all cleaned, and we've even put a more user-friendly driveway in.

Scott our Pres went off his nut with the slasher, so there's an extra area available for heli action - looks like two groups of heli blokes coming up from Melbourne.

Our resident 'mad chooka' Wardy has got the spit roast covered for Saturday night, and a few of us will be camping out there Thursday night to make sure the fire box works and the mozzies stay away (got the council's mozzie fogger sorted).

Just a reminder, we've got an area booked at the Federal Hotel (just over the bridge) for a feed Friday night, so you're all welcome to have a great pub meal and cleansing ale.

We also run a small canteen from Saturday mid-morning onwards with hot and cold drinks, dim sims, hot dogs (and pies if it's cold weather), and provide BBQ lunch Saturday and breakkie Sunday for a small cost (will confirm but $4 steak sanga, $2 snag in bread, $3 bacon and egg sanga will be close), and the spit roast Saturday night we usually do for $10 (3 animals and vegies).

The field is only a couple of km's from town and its 3 supermarkets, 8 bottle shops and heaps of motels if you're not camping.

If you are camping, we've got a fair dinkum gas hot water shower, and toilet block (no jokes - it's a full-on public dunny block) and plenty of space - camp anywhere between the clubrooms and the road. That only leaves about 50 - 60 acres of vacant paddocks to fly over!

Power is an issue, with no power connected at the site - everyone brings their own setups, and we run a generator for lighting etc - so make sure you've got it covered.

The AEFA have designed a t-shirt, and it looks great! These will be on sale at the event.

I've got a disk with tons of photos and videos on it's way, so will upload some over the next few weeks.

The event was absolute madness, and finally we nailed some awesome weather, so everyone was lining up for a fly!

Was even more surprising to note I counted 15 'regulars' who weren't there, so the numbers would have been through the roof.

The Heli Boys from Melbourne Australia, came to the Swanhill Electric Fun Fly and i caught some great 3D action at night. Not sure what the Helis are but they are 700 class $1800-$2000+ machines. *Update!* The heli in part 2 that unforturnatly crashed and burnt was a Trex 700.
//Dennis.
Part 2 we see an unfortunate accident where the pilot lost orientation and put his heli into the ground, a few seconds later the Lipo explodes into flames, The crowd comes to the rescue with good ol Beer! and save's the heli from any more damage, Just what can't Beer do!
Keep an eye open for part 3 where we will see a 500 & 700 class heli doing 3D with no lights on the heli, just 4 blokes with torches, shinning them on the heli, now there's trust! this is truly amazing to watch

cheers chuck

PS being a night flight you really need HD to view this great footage

At the Swan Hill Electric Fun Fly and Addies Hobbies bought along a Falcon 120 Turbine Jet running a KingTech 80 Turbine, for a display, so it was put up against Bill Hamilton's Salto which is a 1/3rd scale 4.53 meter span with Turnigy 80/100 outrunner, 14S 5000 Lipo and Jeti Spin 170A controller. Prop is 3 blade RFM 16x16 wide on 100mm hub.
First up i must say this was extremely hard to film they were both just too fast for me and my cheap camera but i did get a couple of good passes and the sounds are always great when machines like this go flat out, so sorry for the bad footage bits hope you enjoy the good passes

cheers chuck

Here is part 3 in the Xtreme 3D Heli Action At Night and this time the Heli lads from Melbourne show us how to fly by torch light, again truly amazing stick skills are shown by these pilots the first part of the footage looks like a 450-500 class heli with the second heli being a 700 class heli both being flown under torch light
Sit back and enjoy! and keep an eye out for Part 4 the final part! it is a show by one of Australias best 3D heli pilots putting his 700 class electric through some real hard 3D

cheers chuck

Another clip from the resent Swan Hill Electric Fun Fly, this time it's David Hobby, flying his Trim Aircraft Kit, Sabre Jet, powered by a Ram-Teck E-fan, on 12S Lipos. This thing looked great and the speed and sound was incredible, it was hard to keep up with it while filming. HD is the best way to view this short clip, enjoy!

cheers chuck

Thanks Chuck, great vids. I saw the Sabre a couple of years ago at Swan Hill. It's an impressive beast! And I'd heard about the lancaster, but what a monster! Almost as wide as the strip up there!! Great to see it in the air.

Did you get any of the 262 in the air? You catch a glimpse of it on the ground in the lancaster vid. It was at Swan Hill last year as well, but was too windy to fly.

G'day mate
The AEFA have locked in October 25-27 this year, bit later due to clashes with Bathurst and a glider show at Mildura apparently.
New date same as Positive Pitch heli event so we won't have the heli lads this year either.
Will post more info as it gets closer.
