Gonna take the Chaos out to Brown's Bluff today and hopefully be the first to fly a Chaos in the Northern Hemisphere

Great Brian!!!
I'm looking forward to your flight report. A few of my friends are there. It's going to be EPIC !!!
The wind was howling on my way to the LBC

Before I left sanded my Chaos canopy. I talked to Dan and he clued me into the getting it right.

Here are some pics.

Success! The Chaos flew and it flew well. I didn't even need to adjust the trim. The CG was fine for a first flight but it is a little nose heavy, I will be bumping the CG back before the next flight. The air at Brown's Buff was pretty bad today so it was hard to get a real feel for the plane. But overall it performed as well as could be expected in those conditions so I imagine it will fly great in good conditions.

After Browns me and Ian headed over to Lake Hills where it was OFF THE HOOK!

Nice! Looks like a smooth landing area from the pic. I need to find out were that place is. I think I was in lake hills yesterday & today. Strong wings the whole time.

Cool. I've been to BB but never to lake hills flying and it sounds like both are worth the trip.

Lake Hills is BIG, big hill, big winds.

Browns Bluff was COLD, check out the snow blowing of the top of the mountains.

Awesome It's so cool to see one in the air on the other side of the world!

We're over in NZ at the moment. I wish I'd brought some planes along.

Wings trimmed to size.
I went with 1/16" balsa skins.
2 1/2" balsa tip.
2" aileron stock 1/2" trailing edge
3/4" basswood leading edge.
Coming next
I ran out of brass tubing. I will pick some up today and finish the torque rods.
Then sand the trailing edge.
