hi green
thats a lot of speed controls., but can see why because of the water jets.
Just got a 1/35 scale kit of the LVTP-7 and will scale it up to 1/16.
Just so looking forward to building it.
Thanks for the help.
Ok one odd question what does Semper Fi mean?????

It is a short version of the Latin motto of the US Marine Corps, Semper Fidelis which means always faithful.

hi green
well just going to do a bit of fact finding. Looking to use a sabertooth dual motor controler.
So have set up a new thread to see what people think.
Going to make it out of wood and going to find an old rc tank to use it wheels and tracks for the time being.
If any one want to give info or help please feel free.
Will post pics and build log.
Mr Green amphibian has started me off so a big thanks for his support.

Great work on your on your lvt-4.
Would it be possible to get a photo of the in side of the LVTP-7. What about the gearboxs, were they home made or bought in?
Will
Sorry about all the questions.

Will,

Don't be sorry about questions, that is one of the reasons we have this forum, to ask questions. The gearboxes I use are the steel gears in a HL frame with long output shafts. I am also using brushless motors. I will see if I can find some pictures of the interior for you. Remember, this is all homemade and put together from many parts suppliers. I know it looks all jumbled, but it really isn't when you get everything installed.

Hi will,

The hardest part was finding all of the working parts and getting the radio to make them do what I wanted to do with them. It took me about a year to get it in the water capable stage.

Hi Herman

It`s George from Canada. I have also started on this build. I have a question for you, I don`t see any return wheels on this craft, what keeps the track down across the tops of the road wheels when under way? I know you use metal tracks BUT won`t they rise when in forward motion and NOT be on the road wheels?

I think I`ve even seen return wheels on other videos, not sure though. What is your thoughts and recommendation reg. the return wheels?

Thanks Herman for All your help with this.

George

Hi George,

On the early versions the tracks rode on the tops of the road wheels just like the German Tigers and Panther from WWII. Yes, they do rise, but it has never been a problem for me. The newest upgraded versions of the LVTP-7 do have return rollers installed. I did not use them since I did the original version, but if you do use them you need to update to the rectangular headlight openings and the retractable splash screen on the front, also the turret would need to be changed.

I have also found and updated the original build pictures on this forum.
