A question to Andrew:
Can you put a small mic close to the motor, reverse signal 180° and feed it to the amp?? Would maybe give noise cancelling following RPM to make your units stand out more.

That is something to look at. I am not sure, but playing both sounds on the same speaker may reduce the volume of the wanted engine sound. There are just some high KV motors that are just too noisy. Due to the laws of physics, it can only go so loud, and still be small, light, and energy effecient.

Nice work Andrew! Would the speaker setup be similar or the same as the current units?

Hi URRL,

Great video! Seems like Andrew's jet module would be perfect for you. I hope you have many flights.

I spent the weekend travelling to New Mexico to pick up a new "LightWave" discus-launched glider and a repaired "LightSpeed III" discus-launched glider from www.rcbuilder.com

Hope to have retrofits to my P-51 and P-47 done this week. Will share video as soon as these planes are back in the air.

Cheers,

Jackson

More than likely. I need to test it out more. I am just worried about the loud EDF noise.

Guys,
I am not sure if I will be online for a couple of days. I live in upstate NY, and right now the predeictions are for Sandy to cross over us probably Tuesday night or Wed. The winds are supposed to be strong from now through Wed. So we may loose power. We lost it last night for a few hours, and the wind was barely blowing. LOL

So assuming we don't get blown off our hill, I will catch you on the flip side of the storm.

Andrew,

Wishing you and your family safe passage through the storm. My daughter will be riding out the storm in Cambridge, Mass.

Sincerely,

Jackson

Well, so far so good here. The winds were high last night, and the power kept blinking, but did not go out. It is moving further west and weakening, so I think we may be past the worst.

Andrew,

You are lucky my friend. Sounds like the damage from this storm has been massive. Millions are without power (and Internet).

Here in Colorado the weather could not be nicer. I have been out the last two evenings flying the Bucker in the golden light of sunset. What a lovely thing to have a beautiful scale biplane "motoring" slowly overhead. One of these evenings I will get a friend to video this so I can share with you.

Best regards,

Jackson

Andrew, glad to see all is well post Sandy.

Well here is a request a little off the wall. I am building a drone quad that will be programmed to patrol our family vineyard. I'd love to load it with a sound of an attacking hawk with distressed prey.

Birds are a hassle but we don't want to hurt them. Would it be ossicle if I sent you a sound file?.
