So just as I was about to pull the trigger and order two FSK ME-109's and one FW-190 to take advantage of their buy 3 and ship free offer I suddenly realized that I still had stuffed in the back of my closet......... 2 GWS ME-109's and 1 GWS FW-190 from 4 years ago. Wondering why I would drop close to $400 on 3 planes I already own I decided to pull out one of the 109's and give her a shot.

It is the white non-painted kit version. I will be using one of the GWS 2208/18T motors I saved from the GWS P-38 that I decided not to fly but instead hang from the ceiling in my 3 year old sons bedroom. I have a couple of extra 3 blade props left over from my FMS 800mm P-47 that I would like to use. Once I put some new connectors on the motor I will run some performance tests on the motor and prop.

So far I have the wings, fuse, and elevator sanded down and primed. I also have the canopy cut out and the canopy frame painted. Still trying to figure out what I am going to do about a nose cone going from a 2 to 3 blade prop.

Over all I am pretty happy with this kit. I only paid $24.99 for it 4 years ago in a online special. Will post some pics soon.

Ok it's been two weeks and I have made some pretty good progress.

Got the main wing painted, ailerons hinged, cockpit done, made and installed a firewall for the E-rc brussless outrunner, and I amusing the FSK prop and nosecone from their BF-110 kit.

Look great...keep the progress & pics coming.I have a ME-109 I plan to build this winter.

OK. Latest pic from my GWS ME-109 build. Just about finished. 3 Tower Pro 9g servos installed, as well as a HK ESC and Orange Rx. Just have to touch up the paint, apply decals, balance, and adjust the control surfaces.

I notched out the exhaust on each side of the nose and trimmed a sheet of styrene above and below the exhaust as it appears to be in pictures of the real thing.

Looking great. It's sure nice to see someone building this. I sure miss mine.
