Some more pics of this very interesting movie boat. And I must say the subject matter never gets old. I never knew so many others besides myself also considered the Orca a major player (character) in this movie. It serves the same plot device as the Pequod and of course Captain Ahab is Quint...

Hi jlt13th, yes sir I did, this Orca was built just after the movie came out, it took me a year, it only 16" long and incased in glass, have been taking care of it sence then, very proud of it, and thank you for the comments.

thats wright, it never gets old to me, only frustrats me at time that there is not much info about this vessel, but I think this is why it intregs so many folfs about her, the looom of mistery thank for the pics

Pops? i have a question. The piece of pipe you say is going to stick out the side of the hull. I'm not sure the Orca had that. If you look at the stern by the water line you see a round plate. That was the original exhaust port before Joe Alves team put a solid plate over it and installed the smoke stack aft of the cabin. I'm not sure if the Orca had a water cooled engine.

your are wright about the plate on the stern, and I have that replacated on mine, but how is the Orca engine getting cooled?

well, that's the question. If you look back at what Charlie said in post #93, a similar Novi had a Model A Ford engine. Can you water cool an engine that old? I don't have an answer.

The Warlock had that metal plate as well and also had a smoke stack coming out of the top like the Orca.Im guessing it must have had a wet exhaust back when it was in its original state,before it was modified to look as it did as the Warlock.
Also,if Im not mistaken,I think the engines with the smoke stacks are cooled by the motor sucking up sea water.I used to work on old boats,but never got into engine work though.
BTW:Pops your boat is looking great!
