Assuming you're using Tamiya - don't get any on the painted surfaces - wrinkle city. Don't worry about messing up - I've had to repaint a couple JTM canopies due to runs, and it easily comes off with laquer thinner and leaves canopy crystal clear and ready to re-coat. Nice, light coates, especially the first few - yes, you'll need several coats to get it dark enough to look good. Orange Tamiya won't be dark enough, unless you add a finishing coat of Smoke, then it will look very cool. I did that on my Habu 32 and it came out awesome.
