I first noticed this plane on the cover of the Tower Hobbies catalog, which I received in the mail yesterday. Given the price, the discount coupon ($20), no tax or shipping charges, and some great reviews and videos, I jumped on this one!
Been looking for a dedicated float plane, and this bird looks great. Hope she's accept my 4s 2200 lipos! |

Thanks...
It was more to show how far things have come since 2004... For foam planes, the scale details really are much better and the foam they make these out of now dosen't shatter like glass when it hits something... The other thing, is the connection to a thread I started waaaay back then called "Canada's Latest Beaver" here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...+latest+beaver in RCGroups, it's really neat to see some of the old "GWS Beaver" gang still building and hanging around here! For example, (Hope you don't mind) "Tom Smith" is an old GWS Beaver driver from waaaay back here's his plane from our old archives: ![]() I'm looking forward to seeing his Flyzone bird with all it's finishing touches! |

I would rank Tracon as the president of the Beaver Lovers Club. His is prettier, but my GWS Beaver has flown higher, if memory serves me. In 2003 I flew mine over the Hoosier Pass in Colorado, altitude 11,542', plus my altitude over the pass, which was about 50'. Completely stock too. Sam has a picture of it in his Beaver archives. I can't wait to see what he does to his Flyzone Beaver. Tom
