I dont think I want to to that now. Cant see much in there anyway unless the sun shines in the cockpit ![]() I will check again when I take the wings out to see if I can fit by the top hatch. I tried by my back door but too far. |

Got a question?
Did anyone have to carve foam away from the lower wing strut mount where it attaches to the gear leg? The hole on mine is almost completely covered with foam. The bolt goes in without the wing strut but when I put the lower strut attachment point up against it it is far from a flush mount.

It has a few things that could be improved, but the flying outweighs these issues. That damaged flap isn't trivial, but foam over holes or mounting spots is really no big deal. I lengthened my flap servo arm and now I get at least 45 degrese in full deflection. I just cut off an old servo horn and screwed it on to the existing one. I wish they hadn't cut that servo arm, but they did and it was an easy fix. I also decided to tap the 6 holes where the landing gear attaches. I used a 4x40 tap and mounted the gear to the fuselage using 3/4" 4x40 socket head bolts. That gear aint goin anywhere. Tonight I'll clear the foam from the rear gear leg bolt hole and mount the struts to the wing. Then she is ready to roll. Tom

Here is a photo of my front float mount. All of the other mounts have small black plastic holes, but this one seems to be covered and not black underneath. There is no hole, just a bump in the foam. It has to be underneath the foam.
The loose windscreen is not a big deal because I would need to remove it anyway to install my pilot. I will probably remove the window trim decals and just paint the lines. Still need a new flap. The damaged one makes my plane look ugly.
