Paul - Do you have any friends or club mates that are into FPV? Some air to air video of your plane sure would be awesome! ~ Robin

Paul, sorta thought that about trying to remove the wing...pain in the butt. It will not go into the suv with the wing side to side, so I guess I'll have to try it lengthwise.

I fit mine in the backseat of a Ford Crown Vic without removing anything.

Paul,

What's the airboat you've got back there? It looks like it's made from a couple of Super Cub LP floats!

Paul - I like your airboat by the way. I also noticed that you had an Icon A5 in there also. Do you like flying one better than the other? I've look at Icon also, I just like the looks of the Beaver better.

I like both but they have there own characteristics.
The Icon is a blast even on the water like a jetski
But........I love my Beavers

Well I will be getting a new Beaver as soon they are in stock. Moved out to Arizona and my Beaver ended up getting messed up in the tail section in the move.

Flyzone Beaver with GoPro at CCRCS 2-2-13 (8 min 2 sec)

This was my second attempt with the gopro on the plane. I removed the top hatch and built a replacement out of light ply and used two reusable zip ties to secure it to the spars. I added 3/4 ounce of lead to the tail to get correct cg but I think the camera and lead are a little too much for the airframe. It made for an interesting flight.

Greg, Paul - Hope this isn't too far off topic as it applies to something we're looking to do with our planes. Would love to see some footage like this with the Beaver - especially the take-off! The second video is a "making of" video of the first one and shows some of the challenges you (or we) might face!

FPV Air2Air Hydroplane (4 min 19 sec)
Making of: FPV Air2Air Hydroplane (4 min 54 sec)

These are on You Tube also but I think the vimeo videos are a bit clearer, just let them que up before you start. ~ Robin
