Greetings fellow Race Fans!

This is the spot I plan to update with items that may be of interest regarding the leading edge of model sport air racing known as F5B, during the World Championship being held in Romania, September 16-21, 2012.

Many pilots will blog the event and I will add those links as I learn of them, so you'll be able see all those pictures and stories as well.

USA's 2012 F5B Team consists of our top 3 National Pilots, as decided during the 2011 US National in San Diego. 1) Lenny Keer, 2) Steve Neu and 3) Jeff Kessamen.

I will try to include content here that applies to a wide range of interested hobbyists and seasoned racers alike.

Fair WARNING: subject matter may not be suitable for all audiences, thread will likely take tangents at any given moment. :-)

European Championship for Electric Model Aircraft 2009 (4 min 38 sec)

A Race plane test, onboard cam. This plane does 0-170+ in about 3 seconds, is powered by high tech batteries advanced electronics gadgetry and is controlled via computerized radio transmitters (aka, big boy toys)

A "hot liner" as many refer to them, this one a full on F5B racer. What it actually represents is the top of the performance and technology pyramid for high performance modeling, attempting to design a plane that flies slow, flies fast, flies with precision, accelerates with minimum delay, and flies / maneuvers with ultimate efficiency. Many great minds have dedicated countless hours developing the technology, and this video is just plain shows it all off in an intriguing kind of style.

Dear Team Germany,

Rumor has it that the "B" team is being sent to Romania this year.

We are very sorry to hear that the venerable, and notorious, Guntmar is not going to be present representing you. ( So, maybe the rest of us mere mortals have a chance.....:-) )

Being that you guys have the only track on the planet capable enough for the fastest car, and produce the "ultimate driving machine", perhaps you'd also like to add some spice to this thread with a picture of your team shirt, and what the significance actually Is, regarding all those bloody stars?

Will Radio Carbon Art produce an f5b feature?

Well, I can't exactly say...but I can say that your artwork, plus Paul's, has resulted in something pretty nice already. Of course, if you'd read your texts messages today, you would already know what I am blabbing about ;-) , as well as the offer to make a special delivery,

I could only imagine what the two Of you could produce! That would surely R O C K!!

Wolf (two times world champion) Norbert (one of the originals in Electric flight) and Christian (won at least one of the Eurotours I attended) will not be walkovers I can assure you Eric. So some "second teams" might be difficult to beat.
Not the UK team, though. They had to draft in their OAP tea-boy as a pilot.
