Actually they did!
It was painted for the first Antarctic expedition after World War II. It was immediately wrecked in a gale at Heard Island in December 1947 and lay buried in snow for forty years until recovered and brought to Point Cook for restoration to display condition. |

OK, I'm going to have to ask permission to run this competition as the site rules dont allow a prize of any value to be offered if I'm not a site sponsor. Hang fire, I'll get it sorted!
Oh, UHU Por glue arrived today and its on the microaces website at £2.49 + vat. If anyone wants any let me know how many tubes you want and I'll work out postage to see if its worth it for you. |

After the Mk1 spit You have to follow up with its stablemate, the Hawker Hurricane!
The Hurricane was my second favourite aeroplane from when I first discovered it as a small boy. (The first being the Lancaster) And I wouldn't mind if it was the LE-D of Squadronleader Douglas Bader of 242 Sqn. That's a true "Kick-Ass" colour scheme! Why are everybody ignoring the splendid Hurricane? It certainly did it's share of work in the Battle of Britain, and then some... |

Oh - I would love too.
The hurricane would be absurdly fantastic (I too appreciate the relevance of this magnificent machine) and I have already looked at the design and it is most definately on the list. But if you want to bump it to the top of the pile and decide exactly what livery you want it designed in, enter it into the competition thread when I put it up! We'll have to wait a few days tho for the thread as I am required to become a 'site sponsor' before we can do any of that. It's not a big deal as I was intending to do some advertising on RCGroups anywho! Shouldnt be more than a few days. OH! Looks like I already am. Get ready guys! |
