Infrared filter in Aiptek?

Hi. Is there an infrared filter in the Aiptek 1.3MP cameras? I ask because as fas as I knew there was, but mine can see the IR led in my remotes. I noticed it while in live mode. If there is supposed to be one and mine for some reason didn't get it, what are the bad effects of not having it? So far I haven't noticed any problems with it taking photos...

Just curious...

Hi Keith,

There is a single IR filter (read: not blocking) in these cameras.

If you did not have a filter present at all, your shots would take on a slightly green tint in late day lighting.

and a deeper red hue during the daytime...

To date I have not detected any deliterious affects on the cameras performance without the filter installed. Although I would not point the camera directly into a bright source (much like any other camera).
