New Product
CXN - Retractable FPV Pan/Tilt Camera Mount ... Now Available

Well guys after been out for a while, I'm getting back into designing some new FPV pods and update my current ones.

Here is a FPV pod I first designed for my SkyWalker but never had the chance to use it, it uses a Standard Servo for the retract arm, a winch sail 360 degree servo for pan and a mini servo for the tilt.

I'm making a design to use a mini servo in the pan for those with mini CCD cameras, the big 360 degree servo is more for GoPro's and the mount will be different.

UPDATE: Now Available in 1/8" Grade A MDF or 1/8" ABS plastic (limited quantity) PM me for details

It will require the following:
1) Standard servo for "RETRACT"
2) Standard servo for "PAN" (I'm using a GWS S125 sail winch servo 360 degree rotation) servo plate adapter included so you can use a micro servo if desired.
3) Micro servo for "TILT"

Total weight with servos installed 145 grams, measurements are in the picture, it will require a 70mm by 70mm hole for FULL RETRACT on any position. (if you center the camera before retraction you can use a smaller hole) Camera used measures 32mm x 32mm x30mm

YOU CAN ORDER THEM HERE

CXN Retractable FPV Pan & Tilt Camera Mount (0 min 30 sec)

This is how it looks mounted on a Sky Walker

Looks sweet. I guess you would need to make sure you had the pan & Tilt servos centered before you tried retracting or it would get hung up. If you didn't know it and landed, could be some damage. Want one. When is the first production run.

They dont have to be 100% centered to fully retract but Im trying to design everything to retract on any position but so far it will not.

Well if you have the pan on a self centering stick, like the one normally used for the rudder maybe it wouldn't be a problem. That normally the channel I use for pan anyway. Or maybe a mix in the radio where a switch would center the pan and tilt.

Love it will be great for new plane Pinguin,
but I would attatch the largest cam (3cm x 3cm) and see if it fits through the hole. Otherwise you are limited to board only cameras :-(

The version 2 is designed for this camera with 36mm x 36mm x 30mm mounting plate dimensions https://urbandrones.3dcartstores.com...e.asp?#page-78

I'd like to see a video with a camera attached (any camera). Isn't the hole too small for that?

Just to be on the safe side (in case of larger 36mm cam) I would make that pase plate hole a bit bigger.

All depends on the plane, the base plate on the video is for Easy Star, Sky Surfer and Bixler planes, for larger planes like the Sky Walker the base can be bigger and then you will be able to use a GoPro mount if desired. I will post a video of the GoPro mount later today.
